If I am going to need something that can get me online, do some assignments (words, excel, etc), music and movies, mild downloading, is EEE PC something for me?

QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 18 2008, 08:49 AM) No, you didn't mention mobility at all, so I don't think the EEE PC is something for you. Get a cheap laptop - it's much more comfortable to use. Ah, yes. Mobility is the most important part!! Added on May 18, 2008, 8:53 amI'm currently using my EEE to do casual ebook reading on-the-go. Still haven't setup PPP on it so I can't use 3G yet.. but it should be soon |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 19 2008, 12:06 AM) OK, if you think so Actually, it is my girlfriend who wants to get one. She is going to study abroad. That's why she is currently looking for a light-weighted notebook which serves the purposes that I stated earlier. I suggest that you at least get a USB keyboard+mouse to use when you're docked at a desk. Using the EEE sure gets me funny looks on the streets. A fair number of people have come up to ask me about it. Finally got 3G hooked up through my Nokia today, and it's starting to fulfill my expectations |

My gf is still not sure whether she will like to take the EEE PC 900 as the price is slightly higher than 700. Is 700 enough for her? Hmm..
