VIA's Isaiah CPU architecture has been rebranded Nano. Competition for Intel's Atom? Source
QUOTE VIA Nano is the first 64-bit, superscalar, speculative out-of-order processors in VIA’s x86 product line-up.... Nano offers about 1.6x to 3.2x the performance of the C7 clock-for-clock while within a similar, albeit somewhat higher, power envelope. Good news? Should start seeing it in the market Q3 2008... |

Just came back from PC Fair. Saw 3 retailers selling 901 at RM1749 but the 3rd one in Hall 5 (forgot the booth name) is giving free Lexmark colour printer. Don't recall the model but its one of those cheap inkjets. Better than nothing I guess.

Is it really necessary to hibernate? I think it might only take a few extra seconds faster to start up. How bout trying stand-by? Of course it drains battery but not by much unless its overnight. Maybe some owners could try out and report the difference in time and battery usage.

Hehe... the proverbial to buy or not to buy...
As for me, I took the plunge and got myself a 901. Since its selling like hot cakes, I'm afraid that by the time the new batch comes, its sans the ZIF slot to upgrade to 1.8" HDD. Had some issues with my unit out of the box but got a 1-to-1 exchange 2days later so quite happy with it now. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Oops, my mistake! Actually, I wanted to know how it hugs the rounded edge, coz i tried cutting a plastic wrapper around it but found it hard since its curved. Anyway, appreciate your comments, thanks. |
