Friends in HK said Dell used to have hic ups on new products.

I also heard if Asus 901 or Asus 1000 got problem. Then we need to update the latest Bios. I think direct send bck to shop will be wiser.

Jus got my white Asus 901,supposed to be Black since black demand is not good so dealers don't stock up that much. Guess it is destined to match my name here Hahaha~

Impressive-boot up time was 20 seconds from the time u see Eee logo!

Need to take some sleep 1st b4 toying with it. It takes 8 hours to complete charge the battery in shut down state.

FROM STAND-BY MODE CHANGE TO HIBERNATE MODE

Go click on START
Go click on Power Off and wait d window pops out.

Now you see 3 options - Standby, Turn Off and Restart.
Put your cursor on Stand-by button there and press SHIFT key. Hahaha~
Standby button now had turned to Hibernate button.
DONE.

Pros: No need to boot, better than stand-by coz it won't drain power and convenience.

Cons: some programmes might encounter problem when resume. So pls save data b4 Hibernate ya~

I jus bought Asus 901 last nite.

Out standing battery life. It needs few time to get it seasoned so the battery wil be optimised -i think not less than 5 hours use with 40% brightness n Wifi on.

Boot time was fast, 22 seconds from pressing start button to desktop page. Not bad.

By d way, Asus 901 Black color temporary out of stocks. Good luck for searching it. I started to love this white lappie~

I knew people did successfully play Battlefield 1942 WW2 Secret Weapon in it with 800x600 resolution.

Update d Bios? What is d pros to update it when my 901 is running great. I heard those from d forum said Bios 1202 got another bug. These Bios still unstable at d moment, i might only update it when it is stable.

By d way,jus to share wif u guys. Putting 901 in Standby mode was great. No heat when Standby unless it had run programs used b4 going to Standby. It only consume roughly 1.5% of your battery per hour! No need Shut Down or Hibernate,instant access.
Advisable to customized Time b4 Standby at Power Management.

The OldTown Coffee just opposite Tmn Midah next to Honda Showroom one.
Fully packed and very happening. A bit congested Wifi service coz too many people. Online is ok,download and upload wil be a bit below par unless u go there midnight 3am Kakaka~

Hi everybody, does anyone update their 901 with latest Bios 1301? What difference did it gave you? I heard some complain in Eee forum about this latest Bios, somebody said d contrast can't be adjust after updating it. It is either too dark or too bright.

So, what do you say? If not much difference in performance wise, i don't want to risk updating d existing one coz it was Great -everything runs well.

For your info, you need to wait for another coming soon Bios.

Caution to future Eee owners: As i said, if your 901 is working great,Do Not itchy itchy hand go update d Bios. Go do some reference 1st on forum before moving forward. The latest Bios proves flaws in it. Only update it when most members applaud and satisfied on d damn Bios then only we go update it. Do not listen to minority and if you were satisfy with the existing 901 performance stick with it.

For those who are having problems. Only 2 choices to choose-
1. Wait for another up coming Bios.

2. Go to Asus Service Center since it is stil within warranty. Or ask them to reinstall origin Bios for you.

Do call Asus Center 1st regarding your Bios case. So it will save you a hack of time.

Last resort if not happy,it will be request foR refund from where you had purchased. If this happen usually d boss won't refund but will change a new one for you.

After 1st initial 8 hours charge on power off condition. After that, 3 to 3 half hours per Full charge is normal. I used to unplug it when i see Power Meter is 100% on Power Management.

Come to KL to buy lah~ or ask trusted members to buy lah~ KL also not enough stocks so maybe due to this. Other area or states will be a bit late. If you guys buy at PC Fair now sure pricing is RM1749,the price so rigid due to high demand. 901 worth every of your penny. But you need time to adapt to its cramp keyboard or take Eee1000. 1000H can hear spinning sound one,same as MSI. Mayb jus a few unlucky one got d not so perfect machine. By d way, do not upgrade Bios if your machine is ok. Hahaha~

Guys, do check out Eeepc Forum. It has tons of info teaching us how to maximize speed, storage, speaker and many more. A great sharing place that solve most of our technical problems. Great help for sure.
