oh! My 901 is stock standard..so..um.. no hibernation for me...

Added on August 12, 2008, 7:15 amdude we all use eeepc as back-up laptop on the move. Consider bigger screen @10 inch, better go for 1000h or msi wind but 901 beat em all in battery life. Afterall, MSI wind only came wif 3 cell battery pack mean crappy battery life and its worldwide shortage.
We still need external cdrom in case of windows having problem.
Because i travel a lot, I think, 901 is purrfect for me. IT has perfect balance between ultra portablility, power and battery life.
Actually I have a 12.1 inch notebook, but going into semi retirement. So 10" screen could be a perfect replacement since 12.1 is also too heavy to carry around. 1000h has better quality and bigger keyboard making less typo errors. A bit heavy and more expensive.
I like the light weight of 901, but settled for 1000H bcos I need a light notebook. For this price I could only getting a 14.1 notebook, which is too heavy to carry around. 80GB storage is also an added advantage ( compared to 901 ).
Both 901 and 1000h are meant to be tougher machines ( than wind and acer ) and hence having a longer lifespan. People do complain about vibration in wind, but not for 901 n 1000h. Build quality is fairly important for an ultra portable machine. Good battery life is also the important factor. WIFI drains out a lot of battery power. Support services from Asus are also important. I think WIND support services are still not well tested in local market. What if they pull out of this market a year later, due to strong competition ? I have a palm pda,but need to send to Singapore for technical support.
901 is more value for money and hence has higher demands.
Installations of softwares can be done through Desktop cd rom by way of local or wifi networking or through pen drives, saving up the money.
But do take care of LCD screen, and any replacement later could cost more than RM 1k after the warranty period. ( correct me if I am wrong ).
