just tested my EEEPC 1000H with mixvibes ( dj software ) , doing some scratching beat juggling mixing ... no problem at all ..... no lag or what so ever ... perfect like real vinyl control ...

even played songs direct from USB thumb drive ... no problem also ..

freaking awesome ...

Added on August 9, 2008, 3:40 pmjust as much as i love the black glossy finish on the eeepc, i also hate how it attracts all the finger prints. so i cover it up with a printed carbon fibre sticker ... like what i did for my BenQ S41 and also my iphone .. all just from one roll of vinyl stickers..

couple reason why i choosed ASUS over MSI ... first of all ... ASUS alrerady had the 700 and the 900 ... so with the new 1000 .. they are the veteran in the market... i'm sure they have made alot of improvement to meet the market's demand ..

as for MSI ... they are new in these UMPC ... and fairly new for portable pc/laptop/notebook ....

ASUS has been around for quite some time and they have reputation for good gaming related product .... so that's why i choose asus over msi ...

yes, MSI is much cheaper and of cuz there is reason to it. u get what you pay for ...

as for acer ... ..erm ...the brand itself spelled problem .. so try to avoid acer ..

hopefully this is a software issue and a new bios/software patch to rectify this problem. I hope they will have a free exchange for a bigger capacity battery in coming months ..

Hi,

Mind to share your battery meter reading the first time you fully charged it .

My 1000h is only showing max 5 hrs, is it normal ?

Need help here.
*
ONLY ? 5 hours only? LOL not enough????
if u expecting 7hours as advertise on the asus 1000H laptop , then you have to use your UMPC in standby mode .. smile.gif
even if u turn off everything etc.bluetooth, wireless, lowest brightness etc..., you can't achieve 7 hours ... 5 hours is long enough ...

I think you have misunderstood my question.

I am talking about the battery indicator when you first charge up your battery. Does it indicate 7 hours like 901 model or 5 hrs , that is shown on my 1000h model.

I am not complaining whether one should get a full 7 hours.

I am merely seeking info from other  1000h users.
*
sorry about that ... all i can say now is it doesn't show 7 hours

Hico,

It should not, to open the keyboard there are 3 clips you push and the keyboard can be lifted up. Of cause unless you break something. Now the keyboard felt so SOLID.

jackdon
*
i think the earlier problem was the gap between the keyboard and it's sitting on the bracket.. now that u filled the gap , it will surely feel more solid instead of the bouncy keyboard..

hopefully asus can improve on it for the coming batch
*
i don't think it's much of a problem ...
it's just individual perception about the keyboard... some might want a bouncy keyboard ... some might want firmer keyboard as it will be more responsive ...
so yea ... i don't think asus will view this as a problem that needed to be rectify.. ...

May i know for nlite program..issit use on another computer and then burn it to cd using iso...then only install the xp using tat cd??? so tat cd will become the xp installer??
*
basically .. u use NLITE on another computer to "stripped" down an original XP installation CD to a smaller files/ligther version with removed unwanted application/services.
then the edited copy of your XP installation files will then be burn into ISO format / bootable image file so that you can installed the newly modified XP installation "CD" onto your eeepc... there is no "CD" becuz this have to be done using a usb / install from another drive.

QUOTE(Hico @ Aug 27 2008, 02:36 PM)
hmm ic..thats mean have to use the original installation cd together with the nlite program..then the iso file created will be copy to cd or usb drive???  but how the iso function if copy to usb drive like pen drive?
*
that is totally another different issue to make your computer boot from USB drive .. smile.gif i haven't done it before but there is tutorial on the internet that will teach you how ..

so once u can get the computer to boot into your "XP Installation USB Drive" .. then you can just install as normal ..

i am not sure if you can download a copy of windows XP (*the eeepc version) ... and then use the serial number on your sticker at the back of your EEEPC.

even if you download an illegal copy , but you are using a genuine CD-key. that way i think it won't be illegal ...

how come you guys can talk about pirated software here? i thought it is not allowed. or are you guys saying those software download is legal version?
*
what make a software illegal if you download off the internet + using a cracked serial or patch.
but if you download a software ... and use the original serial number u have = legal.
for example if you download a pirated windows xp and microsoft detect it as illegal, it gives you an option to purchase the license and make your current copy legitimate ..
get the idea?

so no1 is promoting illegal stuff here..

1000H user.

When you full charge the battery, there is no indicator or change of LED colour to show full charge?

Everytime i have to turn on the pc to check the battery meter

Its not like IBM thinkpad...can specify please charge when battery < 95% or else dont charge.
*
when it's still charging .. it will blink
when fully charged .. the light will remain on ...
there is no light indicator to really indicate a full charge..

eeepc has a problem of standy where if u leave it overnight ... about 10 to 20% will be discharge even if your laptop is not on ..
to avoid discharge... unplug it when not in use ..
