important is which of the model suits your requirements the most, doesn't matter what brand

901 linux only has 20GB (4+16) SSD, no HDD. but someone here plans to swap the second SSD with a 1.8" HDD. in that case can go for 901 XP. let's wait after he successfully do this

i suggest u wait for just another week & get during pc fair 2,3 Aug. expect price to be more stable & maybe get some FOC item also

i figure it makes economic sense to wait for dell E release & see what happens. who knows dell E could turn out to be the one that meets my requirement the most, price & feature-wise. if not, it will be 901 then

as i said, if dell-e doesn't meet my requirement, i'll get 901. by then, asus might also revise the price downwards

701 should be good enough. but why not spend a few hundred more on 901 to do a little more

you can't expect a big keyboard from such a small size notebook. this is an expected compromise. those ppl who want to buy 701/901 should already know about this

so far nobody has seen 901 linux. probably the dealers wanna keep to unveil at pc fair this weekend

nice one jackdon. i plan to use that garmin software also. but it can't work with non-garmin gpsr right? i hv one unused holux receiver, might as well use it on the notebook. i hv tried mapking for pc & nroute (with gpsgate). for garmin mobile pc, i can use without gpsr.

there is an instruction posted at youtube on installing the 1.8" hdd. just search there. looks easy enough. the tricky part is inserting the zif connector but should be ok la. if not mistaken, the zif connector need to buy separately
