1000H 's LCD is bigger than Acer, 10.2" ? Some prefer 8.9". Some say 7" is even better.

More solid body including the LCD hinges, so use less ultra thin material .

Heavier battery too. Despite bigger battery, Asus still has software installed for you to extend your battery life. Over clocking on ac power and speedy boot too.

It is your choice.

In Singapore, do not need to buy phones, just choose a package including HTC diamond.

I upgraded my streamyx about 3 weeks ago from 512 to 1mb ( together with the celcom 3G plan ).

I call up telekom almost every week, to say my speed still remains at 512.

Guess what, they have tonne of excuses, even say they could not find the jumper or like that to increase my speed.

Where is our vision 2020 ?

RM 108 a month lah, but still have to pay for fixed rental of rm 26 a month.

At first i signed for hot spots for rm 15 + rm 88 streamyx ( 105 ) , but not worth it.

The only long term investment is the modem or hp with 3G ( if you odeli have one ).

In fact, U mobile RM 38 pack is good, but not for places outside klang valley. If you have plans like fishing and so on.

I am still getting 512 after 3 weeks, they still trying to connect me at 1 mb. Cannot pressure them too much.

U know, Malaysia boleh lah.

Now testing my 3g modem at mamak rest.

Connection a bit slow.

Sorry for for misleading info :-

I am quite happy with celcom bcos the speed supposed to be 384, but I am able to get 400++. The only thing is sometimes i have to wait for a few seconds before downloading a page.

For telekom, i am supposed to get connected with the new scheme at 1mb. Quite disappointed, after 3 weeks from registration , i still got connected at 512 , that was under the old package. They supposed to tune for me to be at one mb, but still waiting.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Today is the best of all. But still below 1mb.

How much exactly you pay for it ?

I find the keyboard protector a bit expensive selling like rm 38.

From tan alliance , right ? or who else ?

I want to collect from him, and yet he asked for rm 100.

Whereas, sending by post to you is only rm 95.

So, where is the logic ?

They have the " universal" type for 1000H selling at about rm 10, not fitting to keyboard buttons but just covers across your keyboard with a very thin layer of plastic.

But u have to do some cuttings on your own.

Added on September 25, 2008, 11:27 am1000H does come with a free and legal software, that is basic Microsoft Works ( office ) 2007. I think there is no problem to instal a full version of Office 2007 ( too expensive for Asus to provide with ).

I odeli ordered the ezstick for 1000H.

But does it cover all the ventilations at the bottom as well ? I worry about the heat problem now !

I think you a pro and I am just a starter, so do not know how to advise you.

1000H does also support Vista, but with with limited max 2gb rams. it works better with xp. Xp home is pre installed , and comes with only a cd recovery version . So far, i do not know how it works just in case there is a virus attack.
All the bundled softwares from Asus like battery and overclocking works well in xp home, also do not sure with Vista or if you reinstall with xp pro.

I bought a basic dvd burner and a usb/ide/sata power cable for about rm 120, just to play it safe.

Otherwise , you can use networking with pc or with pendrive to instal your softwares. But, certain programs do not allow me ( being starter only ) to copy to pendrives directly, there must be some other ways, but taking too much of my time to learn. So , finally i bought this basic dvd burner.

1000H does come with bootable usb /optical drives. But again,do not know how it works in order to instal XP.

Maybe, other forumers could come in and share. EEEPC forum has all the discussions. You learn better from there.

D TECH -R DRIVER III ( try to avoid version 2 )

meant to connect usb 2 to SATA IDE CABLE about ( rm 40 ).

So far it works with my basic samsung ide dvd drive 20x ( for softwares installations ), no disconnection problem.

I choose a big ( bulkly ) burner so that later I can swap with my PC cd burner . Or in case, i do not need to instal softwares to 1000h anymore.

I guess 1000H 80gb is a better buy, a hundred RM cheaper than we first bought it.

You should be having 6600 mah battery, right ?

A new version of 901 is coming but do not know when.

If comes with 3.75g modem. It is a ssd i think 16 gb,not too sure.

The spec could change too.
