i'm using the seagate 160Gb Seagate Momentus 7200RPM, so far so good ! thumbup.gif it seem 7200rpm hdd doesn't suffer from those tick tick sound..

btw, just got my mobo and palmrest replaced !

mobo - due to the headphone connector not working ( after replaced only found out it's the driver issue.... tongue.gif )

palmrest - due to minor scratches

overall i'm very very satisfied with my current M1330 and Dell's after service! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

no whine issue and it's completely very silence system!
no warm at the palmrest area
no tick tick sound from hdd
no grainy screen
no BSOD ever encounter so far

my personal rating on XPS M1330: 9.5/10 ! icon_rolleyes.gif

I dont think you'll be still using the same laptop 5 years from now. Most of us would have replaced our laptops 2-3 years from now, especially gamers.

Anyway,im glad that Dell extent the warranty. Not as good as recalling and upgrade the GC to 9600(which will never happen) but it's better than nothing.

true......i second that.

btw, i haven't come across this gpu defect yet *cough*cough*......been using this lappy for almost a year now.....so far so good! I don't game with this lappy but i do intensive 3d graphic rendering. Haven't turn off my lappy for about a month now (busy downloading stuff...... brows.gif )

glad to know that Dell is extending the warranty thumbup.gif ....which means my expiry warranty date will be till Aug 2012! shocking.gif drool.gif
(bought 3 years warranty, dell extend another year FOC for some reason, then again another year because of the gpu issue ) icon_rolleyes.gif
