Erm... It will void the warranty. For those that already out of warranty coverage maybe you can try this before your GC melt down on you. tongue.gif

Which version of driver you're using?
(You're running x64 vista right?)

I'm using version 156.69 (from Windows Update) for my Vista x64. Average idle around 50-55C depending on the room temperature.

Yesterday tried monitor with HWMonitor in the background while I playing C&C, so far max hits around 85C only.

BIOS version A11 & Video BIOS version 60.86.45.00.40 (I doubt you can update the BIOS for 8400M GS, I just show for comparison)

Well, I have tried ubuntu on VirtualBox from Sun. The performance is actually pretty good (very near to native I would say).

Arg. I just tried to watch video from the DVD-RW drive itself for the first time after I bought this laptop. Sound cracks like mad. Same even if I made an image and run using Daemon Tool. sad.gif

Tried VLC media player, WMP both same. Both are 32-bit.

Then I tried x64 WMP, sound was smooth. WTF?? blink.gif blink.gif

Never had any problem playing audio from foobar 32-bit. Source was from hard disk though. hmm.gif

Any idea how to solve this?? doh.gif

Well, I plug my Sony speakers (SRS-D211) to my laptop for music. Sounds are really good.

So I think if you want more out of your laptop for music while on the go, try invest a pair of good quality earbuds or headphones.

hey~all DELL XPS M1330 user......may i know how many second that ur M1330 spend to startup ur computer till ur log in window there???...

Who cares about boot up time when overall performance while using Vista is more important? As long as it doesn't take like 15 or 20 mins to boot up, I suggest you just live with it than trying some weird tune up which end up making your overall system performance suffer. wink.gif

Do you think my plan spc is OK.
actually im looking for NIC that can support 1000g base but no option for upgrade it.
Then my last prob is either choose using mobo display card or upgrade to GEforce.coz of many user facing GC n MOBO prob.

Probably should consider one of the newer model. Like XPS Studio 13/15 with an ATI chip instead if you're looking for a better laptop GPU.

My M1330 nVidia GPU chip just went dead yesterday. :S

Waiting on Monday to get the tech support to get over here. I hope there'll be no problem as I'm in Korea right now. >_<

When you say dead does it mean that your screen just don't show anything anymore ? hmm.gif

Nop. Actually it's the famous "Rainbow" Screen of Death. tongue.gif

I'm still waiting on the contact from Korea support team. Damn I suppose to have weekend+night support but they don't work on weekend even. doh.gif

4GB support is not hardware constraint but more on software. Use 64-bit OS. =)
