I play crysis b4 with my lappy but the temp is very critical even with cooling pad. around 85-95..so I only play for few hours not to exceed more than 90. Not sure about call of duty 5 though but call of duty 4 can play it so smooth

really swt, but if want to extend it for RM700, u better sell if off cheap and buy new laptop, now tech market price drop drastically.
I dont think theres a ned to off the GPU since u pay 3-4k for a high performance specs..no worth.. nxt year many new students, try ur luck sell it off |

I can't believe theres still people go for M1330 after so many new model came out from Dell, I myself using M1330 since last year July, till now approximately 7 months and I dont feel lag or anything wrong with my laptop. Coz I got monitor the GPU temp must always below 80, if above 85, I will never allow it to run at that temp. Most people I knew who have problem with their laptop, not just XPS, other laptop like HP and Acer, they suffer those problems coz never care about the GPU temp and get blue screen like others.

this laptop not good if run high grap games too long, I never intend to play fall out 3 or crysis more than 2-3 hours or else auto restart or blue screen coz I check with my g15 keyboard can see the temps reach 90+ even wif CM notepal infinite, i got myself a desktop for gaming while laptop for light graphic game like cs n dota n other online games.
I using nearly 9 months n haven't exp the GC error or rainbow This post has been edited by David900924: Mar 13 2009, 03:39 AM |

u should hav ask the technician, the technician told me that the XPS itself is very compact and not good ventilation as what u can learn. Cooling pad is a MUST if u intend to play games, and playing graphic games for long hours will affect its life span.. better download those GPU software to monitor the temps. I'm proud my laptop didnt fail me yet after 9 months past ady

I even see my friend laptop drop once from the chair, but the laptop itself inside the laptop bag but still crap the internal screen till malfuntion. Luckily he still on warranty which suppose to expire next month.

I guess its more about monitor ur temp rather than dont care about it, download HWMonitor to keep them down below 90c,
Anyway 1 more month my warranty will b over, i also hope my lappy will b fine since i havent got any error. |

my laptop havent face rainbow yet since last year july i bought my laptop, so it is 1 year old ady, no glitching or color problem as far as i know. as i always told my friends n people here.. always check ur temp. coz I was once told by the dell representative that XPS m1330 slim model hav low air flow and it is easy for gpu to dmg in long term if temp rises. Reliable cooling pad can 24/7 XD, i using CM infinite notepal.
