Pls bear in mind that AVG 8.0 uses more resources than AVG 7.5....

avira seems to use more resource than AVG ? any has i tried avira and its slow on my pc... but AVG is ok.. heven tried the 8.0 verison

Now it can update silently..
but still need the approval of the owner for update..it will not update automatically only will automatically check for update ...haih~

The ver 8 felt sluggish especially during opening of web pages. My P4 2.4 notebook and Desktop AMD xp 2600 felt the sluggishness.

I've reverted back to ver 7.5 and it is way faster on both machines now. Could be that both pc's are outdated i suppose

Nah, I doubt it's your hardware. I'm on an overclocked C2D and it's still sluggish.

Will be switching back to 7.5.
