for me i would sacrifice a little performance rather than skyhigh voltage.. so the tips for that, make it more loose without decrease much performance.. (we won't notice the different actually..)
as we need to understand the needs of our hardware... thus we should care about their limitation and prolong the life span..
i'm a EE (Energy Efficiency) Overclocker.. lol..

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Jun 24 2008, 10:30 AM) gilerz... OT: any guy here usin vista 32-bit w/ 4GB of ram? my os only detect 3.0GB while 4GB was installed... i've tried enable the pae thingy but still d same... anyone can enlighten me on this? thanks... im using vista 32bit.. yes not fully support 4gb as other mem allocation for irq and other hardware.. we need 64bit to expand support all.. i'm thinking to switch on 64bit after everything is ok.. crazy folk even used 8gb of ram

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Jun 26 2008, 02:27 PM) bro, is 2gb enuf for gamin in vista? thinkin of downgradin to 2gb again... actually enough already.. the most ram consumed is around 2.3gb.. with higher cpu/ram speed not feel any different.. i purposely use 4gb just like multitasking.. and lazy to upgrade lol..

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Jun 26 2008, 11:53 PM) well, i'm downgradin to 2GB 2ml, a pair of hyper x ddr2 800... hopefully it can fare better than d twinmos... i'm kinda regret sellin my 10th anni ledi... d problem w/ vista is it has too many bloatware... i never see os as fatty as this... dx 10 is d only reason why i migrate to it. maybe it's full the needs of high reso user.. if not change no different then..

around 1100 not playing much with it.. but i thing using amd very hard to get 1200 unless high voltage.. but on intel would be easier.. not sure.. maybe got to do with the cpu itself..
how much u pump the vdimm? 2.1v? nice for value ram.. but better put active cooler..

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Jun 28 2008, 03:39 PM) Vista SP1 can detect 4GB u really don't get it right? Various devices in a typical computer require memory-mapped access. This is known as memory-mapped I/O. For the MMIO space to be available to 32-bit operating systems, the MMIO space must reside within the first 4 GB of address space. For example, you have a 8800GTS 640Mb Graphics card. That cards memory MUST be mapped withing the first 4Gb of address space. If you have 4Gb of memory installed then part of the addresses are reserved for the graphics card memory map. The graphics card memory now OVERWRITES a part of the system memory. 4Gb = 4096Mb - 640Mb = 3456Mb. If you have 2 GTS 640Mb then the amount of TOTAL RAM available to the O.S. becomes even less and so on. The amount system memory is reduced is all dependent on the amount of devices installed in the system. However, to avoid potential driver compatibility issues, the 32-bit versions of Windows XP/Vista limit the total available memory to 3.12 GB. do calculate the 32bits...

QUOTE(ktek @ Jun 30 2008, 01:42 AM) how about use this setting in BIOS?[attachmentid=513522] bro what ever bios option may be to utilize the 4gb such as -MTRR mapping -S/W memory hole -S/W Dram Remapping etc u may try it if u want.. as long as no driver conflict.. i'm not bothering it much coz not running a critical server here..

my G1 reached 3ghz still sucks? aiyo.. maybe a little voltage required compare to the latest chip.. but 1.4v is ok rather than 1.6-1.7 for F2.. if G2 can go till 4ghz then another story..
