d problem is with d chip, nothing to do w bios version. i believe all of 'em will give inaccurate readings. wink.gif

plz help out, thx.

increase nb voltage abit & try... smile.gif

by changing to 75 right?
*
depends on what chippies used om ya ram, if d9 75ns still ok, but if others, try 105ns or above. my twinmos works fine w/ 105ns... wink.gif

QUOTE(hermit23 @ Jul 6 2008, 01:08 PM)
Should i increase the nb voltage to say 1.35, sufficient, how bout Sb n ht voltage. Im only using ocz sli, so changed all to 105 ady, now running orthos.
*
increase bit by bit, don't anyhow increase alot just to take shortcut. when i was on f3, i did play with d sb voltage abit. by bumpin it abit it did manage to brin down d vcore needed but after awhile, d effectiveness gone. so i just brin it back to stock. never touch d htt voltage as i've tried increasin it for moderate oc, yes it doesn't help. smile.gif

do note that ur playin w 4 sticks of ram, so u tend to need higher voltage for vcore & vidimm if there's any oc done. wink.gif

Just tried fsb 280, multi 12x = 3360mhz, vcore 1.525, vdimm 2.1 . . . ran orthos blend stable for 3 hours. Tried on mutli 15x, 13x, 11x with speeds till ~3360-3380mhz . . . all couldnt even run 30mins in orthos blend. Btw just wanna ask, psu does play a role in ocing right?
*
yes. psu does play a role in decidin how well u can oc. nod.gif

like jedi master xixo tongue.gif said, diff combo give u diff voltage requirement. u just need to find d sweet spot for ya oc setup. smile.gif

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jul 7 2008, 07:13 PM)
is the phenomx3 8450 better than athlonx2 6000 in terms of gaming?
*
i wud say it depends on d game whether it's multi-threaded or not. if single threaded game d higher d clock speed d better while multi-threaded games run better on more cores. so far d multi-threaded game i know is supreme commander, not so sure bout d rest as i'm not a hard core gamer. i only play rts like bfme or c&c only... sweat.gif

i think x2 is enuf for gaming nowadays, if wan upgrade, go to quad is better, since the quad ady become cheaper nowadays
*
if ur referrin to intel quaddies which can clock very high, yes, it does help, but amd quaddies, i'm affraid current dual core can do better their successor... sad.gif

QUOTE(hermit23 @ Jul 8 2008, 09:36 AM)
Vdroop is meant for intel procs only? . . . dp correct me if im wrong. Prob now is, my bios is set 1.55vcore, but in everest, cpu-z n asus ai booster only shows 1.49-1.52 only . . . could that fluctuating voltage cause system instability?
*
meanin that psu/board can't feed voltage consistently to d chip which directly cause d instability. smile.gif

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Jul 8 2008, 09:38 AM)
I dont think Vdroop for Intel only,AMD also have.Yes i think that causes system instability. The causes?I dont really know.Either it causes by PSU or the SB.
*
prolly overheat psu/pwm or psu not enuf juice. biggrin.gif

quite tricky to flash using pendrive..  sweat.gif
thanks bro..

@ah_khoo
is ur DRAM setting with the new bios all set to auto ?
*
main timings & refresh cycle time only, d rest IIRC all auto. smile.gif

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jul 8 2008, 11:27 AM)
btw.. i cannot flash using floppy/usb.. bios file itself reaching 1mb not even other utilities.. so how to boot.. doh.gif
the other portion of the thumbdrive is not accesible.. the only way.. copy the file to the fat32 HDD and execute from there through dos..
*
use 2 floppy disk enough, one for d startup disk, another one for d flash utility + d bios file. wink.gif

What kind mobo can support ??  rclxub.gif
*
it's abit meaningless gettin it considerin it is just a 'lil bit better than 9850be. 95w (soon) 9850be wil be a wiser choice be it price or power consumption wise. smile.gif

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jul 9 2008, 09:23 AM)
no doubt brisbane will more cooler n less voltage needed..
if can oc well.. we might see 4ghz AMD.. yes...
*
if compared to those super f3 we have over here, brisbies don't stand a chance against 'em... tongue.gif

seriously amd need to improve their efficiency in their instruction per cycle (via havin a better architecture), clock speed aint d only solution to better processor. remember d p4 era? laugh.gif

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Jul 9 2008, 09:41 AM)
But its just has 1MB of L2 Cache.Do remember that.
*
higher l2 cache means higher temp sometimes if not most... sweat.gif

but ofcoz, better pi result... drool.gif

No doubt have to grab the mobo and ram first lo..

if that G2 default voltage 1.1-1.25v @ 3.1ghz..
u guys think it can't easily hit 3.5ghz @ stock voltage?
*
dun think so, some gud g2 can do 3.1~3.2GHz @ stock voltage, but mind u their stock is always referin to 1.35v. smile.gif

mine is 1.25v.. i once try 1.1v with stock speed is also ok..
if new G2 @ 3.7-3.8 on air is just nice..
*
wait long long bro... it's too impossible askin for that speed for current architecture. laugh.gif

btw, just found out that 9950 be aint as bad as i think, my bad... smile.gif

QUOTE(informal;3124093)
Macadamia, yes i am sure smile.gif.And BTW,9950 actually draws *less* power than 9850 smile.gif.140W figure is just a requirement for ACC(adv. clock calibration) found in new SB750,for the new OCing capabilities with Phenoms(since the chip will probably be auto clocked on SB750 mobo,it needs a more comfortable TDP number).

any review that the 9950 can run on AX78 ah_khoo ?

try to look in XS or abit forum, i guess not much ppl will pair d most high end chip w/ a value board bro. those who can afford d chip surely have no problem to own a 790fx board. smile.gif

d 95w 9850 b.e should be d highest end chip that suits our board imo. 125w aint doin very well from what i can observe... sad.gif

IIRC 125w 9850 B.E phenom only have that problem, all phenoms are 95w except those "e" version which is of 65w. smile.gif

but the temp n TDp must know sendiri la

yup, read that in XS too. biggrin.gif
