According to the pattern filling that Apple made. It reveals that coming of these three long awaited features. SummaryMMS - self described IM (iChat) - A SMS-like Instant messenger with a slight possibility of being able to transfer file (AWESOME) GPS - Possible Video Conference (no idea how) QUOTE Apple's filed a patent on their upcoming iPhone instant messaging app, detailing exactly what it's going to look like and how it's going to behave. While most of the images show an iChat-esque (and current SMS-like) interface, there are some interesting tidbits we picked up from the text. One, there's mention of "graphics, photos, audio files, video files and/or other attachments as are supported in a MMS and/or Enhanced Message Service," which points to possible MMS support in the future. At the very least, it might mean that their IM app will be able to transfer files. Two, there's also a reference to the user receiving "an instant message while the user of the device is in another application," alleviating fears that we wouldn't be able to IM in the background. I didn't know that iPhone has a GPS receiver. Is it going to be like the HP pda phone that you have to buy external antenna even though it has the receiver?

they could have just release the full potential of GiGIBiru that way .. GPS is easier to implement with an external GPS receiver ..

This is going to be awesome if they implement it in the current generation iPhone. As for bluetooth, did apple completely crippled it or restrict it? I can't find any confirmation that iPhone has OBEX. Couple of years ago as I recalled my friend owned Motorola V-series phone (forgot what specific model) has similar bluetooth issue like the current iPhone. It doesn't have OBEX & like the iPhone, can only paired with mono headsets.

Or is this for the 2nd G? what bout the bluetooth problem? current iphone does not have GPS .. but navizone for iphone software works like an iphone. basically it detect wireless signals from different towers and try to pin point your location by quite a wide radius ... only work best in cities in US which are covered fully by wi-fi MMS is already possible on iphone through software installation .. original iphone doesn't have the MMS settings ... SwirlyMMS is used to receive MMS through the edge network ... there is no problem with bluetooth .. just that Iphone's bluetooth is only limited to audio pairing .. not for file transferring .. they made it that way ..

SwirlyMMS not limited to receive MMS but also send. for GPS, use locateme and it works in malaysia. not really accurate because it uses GSM signal and getting average lat, long position. then by using google map with the final position, you are able to see your current location.
