Bro, if you restore to previous version (after upgrade), your baseband will not get downgraded (I think so), so you need to do a full restore the firmware version in which you encounter the problem in the first place or newer firmware

DON'T USE ZIPHONE ANYMORE.

ZiPhone will make your phone more unstable. ZiPhone will hardcode your WiFi MAC Address to a fixed one and not with your original MAC Address. This is what ZiPhone WiFi fix will do.

Go for the Dev team WiFi fix since u said your WiFi is grey out. Look in iphone-dev.org for the WiFi fix.

there is some problem with your wifi calibration tables. If your wifi is greyed, try to use swifi. If it is not greyed, try Settings→General→Reset→Reset Network Settings.

If it it still cannot, u need to wait for few months time. MuscleNerd is looking on this matter.

this is really annoying sad.gif

switching between 3.9_m3s2 and 4.6_m3s2

also, flashing between baseband is not helping either ...

sigh...i guess i've use all my resources here...

i dont hav grey out wifi, just that my wifi is not detecting any network, if it does...its not connecting into it...and sometime it hangs and reboot by itself..

i wonder any1 here hav the same problem with me sad.gif

Try to reflash your Baseband and going to 3.9 BootLoader FakeBlank

Try using Bootneuter

If those with wifi stability issues could visit the fakeblank wiki page, download that "dosyslog" zip file, then transfer the 5 files in it to the iPhone. Then from Term-VT100.app or Terminal.app go to the directory you put them in and do

sh enable.sh

It should ask you to reboot. Please reboot then go to Settings->WiFi and turn your WiFi off and on a few times. Wait about 30 seconds after turning off, then turn it on again, wait 30 seconds, then repeat one more time.

Then please email me or muscle nerd on your /var/log/syslog file

After that, feel free to go back to that directory and do "sh disable.sh" so that you don't fill up your filesystem with syslog output.

are you trying with public wi-fi or your home wi-fi?
i have read some articles that some wi-fi signal/channel from modem are out of iphone's detection..
if you are using from home, try changing the wifi channel ..

somehow he said he solved the greyed out wifi problem ... so assume that it might be a signal problem due to .. he got to "scanned" it after 10 mins trying ..i'm not trying to confuse him , just giving possibility of the problems here..

i guess the best thing is to start from fresh again .. revirginise the phone and re-jailbreak ..

use itunes and reflash 1.1.4.
after full restore, use iplus and you're done.
there are some fixes that you need to apply manually such as AppSupport.
heard that iliberty is good but i never tested it before.

No dont use ZiPhone. Yes, certain version of ZiPhone (the old one i think) will cause the WiFi problem. Even though the new version is already out (v3.0), but i'll say don try it. Just follow the guide to unlock on hackthatphone. The site has few methods to unlock, you could choose which one that you like. If you read the news on that website, it says that ZiPhone did cause problems to certain phones.

I upgraded to 1.1.4 using the guide there (i followed the iPlus one by the way) and I didnt need to install all those AppSupport and stuff. All were done internally during the unlock process.

Good luck to you. smile.gif

Cheers

AppSupport is for country code matching problem if you have problem matching with phone book.
If you don't have, then just skip it. I have the problem and i need to fix it manually.

Coz it was your lucky day. ZiPhone use the unstable RAMdisk method. It will load everything in memory. Loading big chunks of data in memory is a NO NO coz it can degrade and get corrupted. So our unlucky friend just got pawned by ZiPhone.
