just my 2 cent...sometimes its for newbie like me, we are so gullible and believe those seller...its not like we don't make research, but when someone introduce us to them and tell they have 'medal' for good seller, you tend to believe what they said..coz information in the net sometimes contradict from each other..so usually we will believe these seller are an expert in SGs...human nature rite? we believe what we hear more than what we read...

luckily for me, i came across Cukin and his Pan..and thats how i know about pet shack, then go to Hun's talk in Petster event, and later this forum..so i have to scrap out lots of information that i got that totally contradict from this forum...

smile.gif thanks for the offer Hun..and thank you for the info in your blog too..as its hard to track down every discussion in this forum..you guys reply so fast, and its hard though to check this forum everyday to keep up with the info..

luckily my sister are quite free and she spend lots of time to print every relevant info from this forum..

I mean, as i heard dat nite, u do work alternate four weeks in malaysia and oversea rite?
How are you going to take care of the gliders? U gonna send it for boarding every 4 weeks?
Or is ur sister going to take care of them?

Wow, you let your gliders loose in your room?
*
i do too. but when they started biting my toes, or nibbling my ears, and grooming my hair while i sleep....
its a sign i need to cage them back again. if not cannot sleep maa...
when they were lil joeys, they were easier tho. can let loose n just bark once the whole nite.

Added on June 3, 2008, 10:46 pmfor me its a good exercise for them to be let loose and roam in the room. As they cannot do much gliding in the cage.
When i let them loose, they tend to learn to jump a longer distance and now they can glide as well.

Mine used to glide before it got used to staying on me. she now either sits very still on my shoulders or on top of my head or maybe she's still scared that's why keep so still. She can be in that state for about 15 minutes or more.. but her head keeps looking around every now and then.
*
this is during the day or nite?
sumtimes if we wake them up during the day, they do have the kind of habit of being stoned.
Hehehe...Koochee does, but cheekoo is a diff case tho.

during the nite, if the lights still on, they also mite go into this stage. or if its in a new environment.
when i 1st put her in the flexarium, she took quite a while to adjust to her surrounding.
but when they're familiar with it, they'll become uncontrollable. hehehe...want to explore everywhere.

given time, maybe she'll be comfortable with u and ur surrounding. and will start her own exploring soon.
smile.gif gudluck.

Hai Spel'it, May I know which one is you in petshack? The one in blue shirt? Sorry yaa, i'm really bad in remembering names and people.. hehehe..

Ok anyway, here to answer your question:

1) Who did u book ur joey from:

I engaged Joan from  Pet Shack to help me out on this as I didn't really know which seller/breeders to believe and i don't want end up buying underaged joeys...from this forum, I can say you guys believe Pet Shack (Jack & Joan) so much, so I believe this is right decision..This may take time, but i'm willing to wait..

2)How's ur worklife?,How are you going to take care of the gliders? U gonna send it for boarding every 4 weeks?
Or is ur sister going to take care of them? :

Well, yes I do have to travel sometimes due to my job nature, mostly in AME region..sometimes the travel will take 4 weeks (hardly happens) but I do not work alternate 4 weeks in Malaysia and overseas..and normally my work are quite flexible, I usually go to work around 9.30am or 10am and around 6.30pm I'll go home (only require to work 8 hours per day)..but if I have to work odd hours or longer hours, my office are quite flexible in allowing to bring small pets to office (no policy on this yet tongue.gif)..

but I plan to have 2 SGs, one for me, and another one for my older sister (we stay in same house)..So if I travel, my sis will be around to look after both SG..so in another word, we will have join custody of our SGs...i just hope my SGs won't be confuse to have 2 owners...but Hun said its more likely I will confuse which one is mine..hahahahaha...I already ask Hun about this arrangement and she already advise me that it would be great if
both of my sister and me bond equally with both gliders..which is what I plan to do anyway..

hope this answer your concern smile.gif
*
erm...nolah. im the girl with the red shirt at petshack that nite. and on sunday, i was the one with the grey shirt and blue tudung. Hehehe...

anyway, gud to know that u and ur sis are going to take care of both gliders. and basically ur answers satisfy my concern. hehehe...maybe i misheard the other nite.

anyway gudluck! smile.gif

sbb i was confuse tkt u slalu travel n u think that gliders can be brought overseas during travel.
good that u come to the talk and have a chat with hun.
basically i think u can gather a lot of info from ths thread and the previous ones. coz i did, and still do.

Added on June 5, 2008, 1:10 pmits like the dogs collar, to avoid them frm bitting all... so this is to void your SG frm becmn emo... i think, sumtin liddat...
*
this collar is to avoid them multilating themselves.
like broken string's glider case before.
he was facing an infection sumwhere near the private parts and he keep on biting and the wounds keep on drawing blood. that's wut this collar is for. to avoid them from biting and make the wound worse.
but they are still be able to eat.

eh.. how long can a glider stay alone?
I mean... IF i buy 1 female joey..... and of course have to play wif them and give my time to her.. then how long she can stay alone without other female companion? and the best time to introduce them is after bond well wif the 1st female and 2-3 months later get another female to teman her or? hehe
*
there's a few opinions on this matter. sum wud say better u bond with the 1st glider and get a new one after two months of bonding with the first one. this is to avoid that they bond with each other and reject ur effort to bond with them.

but for me, i took care of both ck n kc at the same time. so i bond with them together. i spend a lot of time with them. Koochee was more laid back and Cheekoo was more trusting that time. so it was quite easy for me to bond with them. and i guess they do effect each other. meaning to say, when CK trust me, KC begin to trust me too.

I remember Koochee.. spel'it gliders.

She should be commended because in the circumstance where her gliders were underaged and looked extremely weak once upon a time, she never forsake them.

Added on June 5, 2008, 6:49 pmWe should not forsake them unless we don't love them.

But another thing is that, we shouldn't have favoritism towards our animals. Some animals do exhibit jealousy.

We should treat all the same and fair regardless how they bahave. Favouristism is betraying the pet.

They have instinct and sense, they will know and react to unloved.
*
yerp. my gliders were underaged when we 1st bought them. we did our research. but always from a website that's saying the younger the better. there are a lot of misleading info. when we already got them, we consult with a forumer who introduce us to this forum. from here i learn a lot.

i dun want anybody to do the same mistake as i did. tho koochee n cheekoo look well now, deep down im always worried if sumthing happen to them due to the lack of nourishment while they were young. i did gave them the best that i can, but my best cannot compensate with what they can actually get from they mothers.
sad.gif

i made a mistake and i hope ppl can learn from it.

I have been noticing something amazing about Qiqi & Gadget...

Every morning at 7-8, they'll wake me up for their mealies...

After that, I'll unlock their cage without opening the door for them to free range in the room...

Qiqi & Gadget will help each other push open the door... (This I've seen them doing)

After they had enough of playtime & return to the cage to sleep, the door will be closed...

At first I thought it was TJ who closed the door but it made no sense as he would lock it...

TJ also thought it was me but I told him why would I do that without locking it?

We have yet to see them doing this....

Makes me  wub.gif  wub.gif  wub.gif them even more...

suggies, treat them as toddlers.
they can play with u the whole day today doesnt mean that they want to play again tomorrow.
but it doesnt mean that they dun like u.
they just want to play with sumthing else.
or want to explore more.
so its nothing to worry about.

Added on June 12, 2008, 1:58 amKP,

Me and KC, we had this special bond. And U shud see the time i let them go off for boarding. Hehehe... Well, she knows that i'd do anything for her. With CK, i still have sum work to do. He's getting there, but not as quite.

He's acting like a hurting teenager. I think it started after i let him go with my bf. Becoz, we had this strong bond b4. Ours was even stronger than between me n KC at that time. He was the trusting one. Nowadays, he act like he cudnt care less. But i know he does. Can see it when they'd have their free roam, he'll keep his distance at first but wud keep on coming to me, just for a nibble or two. To make sure that im still there.

i dun use tent.
if ur suggie is a joey, it doesnt really require a tent.
but if ur suggie is an adult, then maybe having a tent to bond with it can come in handy. because adult wud be less trusting. the tent can help u bond faster as there are not much things that can ocupy the glider's time and then maybe it'll start venturing to u. dats more or less how we build the trust with an adult glider using a tent.

They miss you so much. CK is not so shy, would always greet me every night when I feed the night meal. KC would always be near your shirt. I'm sure when you come back, they will be happy like crazy.
*
Missing them too. Loads!!! cry.gif

CK is never shy. He was very adventurous even when he was a small joey. He'd venture everywhere.
1st day in my room he'd already went on top of my small clothing rail. 3rd day had gone on top of the curtains.
I can see nothing hardly can make him hold back. Heheh. If in a human, we wud say he'd speak his mind and when he set his mind on doing it, he'd do it . Heheh. thumbup.gif

Hehehe. Well KC is very laidback, n shy. She's the most comfortable when on me or inside of my baju. This is only during the day tho. At nite, she's a very graceful and active suggie as she'd glide and jump everywhere. smile.gif

Missing them so so so much. wub.gif wub.gif

tak reti nak ckp.
taming is for me, taming sumthing that is wild. like WC glider.
bonding is to bond with the pets that are already tame.
maybe i had it wrong, but just my point of view.
