In 5 years time, you'll be left with:

x86 - Intel, AMD, Via
Power - IBM? Motorola where?
EPIC - Intel
SPARC - Fujitsu, Sun
ARM- Intel?

actually in 5 years time, i hope Malaysia got its own processor smile.gif, and i dont think Motorola going to let IBM powered the POWER

it's only assembled in malaysia, not made in malaysia.
malaysia only stick all the thing together, not making it.
we don't have fabrication factory in malaysia, but surprisingly, intel owns one in middle east

everybody knows that israel is technologically competetive...
oh, the centrino platform was developed there... or was it the Intel Pentium Mobile?

Oh well, if i have the time, i'll get some resources to support my statements

The pentium M architecture was mainly developed in intel's research labs in Israel.

Actually you can't really say what was designed where in the case of Intel.. they like to operate like one big company instead of several small ones. There are processor engineers in Penang, so I guess they must be up to something smile.gif

"stick all the thing together" is "making it".. "for example if you stick your thing together" with some girl, you are "making it" smile.gif

they are mainly dealing with support chips on the motherboard. I think there's an R&D in networking processor in Penang. Not much on the P4 or PM itself except for assembling them.
