QUOTE(hackdplanet @ Jun 5 2008, 10:28 AM) according to Gizmodo the iphone 3g price is about usd200 if u buy from at&t + contract and if you buy from apple store it was around USD399-499 exc tax. The 3g iphone will be 22% thinnest from the current iphone. If that is the case, they should also sell it at apple stores worldwide without the telco contract bs.

Can we concentrate on the news and updates of countries releasing them that are not tied with any contract or the possibilities of official release here in M'sia?
Quite tired with all the sudden impulse "wahhhh 199$ so cheap!!" posts by thread crashers.

QUOTE(MoNnY @ Jun 11 2008, 12:27 AM) very interesting.. especially this part... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Apple has signed multi-year agreements with carriers authorizing them to distribute and provide network services for iPhones in over 70 countries. These agreements are generally not exclusive with a specific carrier, except in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Ireland, and certain other countries. so now we know that not all countries have 3G iphones that are bounded by a carrier. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET SINGAPORE BE NON EXCLUSIVE... now is the question of price Interesting. Now let's wait for S'pore official release. It's predicted sometime around September isn't it?

Weird thing is Vodafone is bringing iPhone to a certain list of other countries but not here in Malaysia eventhough Celcom has ties with Vodafone.
We're screwed up.

Thing is everyone is purchasing the iPhone because of hype. They don't know nuts anything about it. They only based on what pictures has shown to them. In this case, they might have randomly come across with a picture of Steve Jobs standing in front of the $199 backdrop thus making conclusions to everything.

QUOTE(Dante18 @ Jun 11 2008, 05:40 PM) Iphone 2.0 real cost Get the phone $199 with 2 year contract. After 30 Days cancel the service and pay ETF. Your cost $199 + $175(ETF) + $35 (Activation) + $70(First month Service) + Tax $15 == $494 Dude, you sure about this? I mean about the ETF value and all? $494 is still below RM2K, that's quite a relief.

And also people failed to understand keywords like "subsidy", "contract" and "terms & condition". All these words doesn't matter much to them since they only like/understand visuals.

QUOTE(Mike3300 @ Jul 11 2008, 04:42 PM) Don't try to rise other forummer's anger here, take it else where. To be honest, this phone is a no league/competition phone compare to iPhone. Don't kid yourself. kid myself about what? they want a cheap phone so i'm suggesting a cheap phone since iphone is obviously out of their league/budget now. ahhh, i can hear the sweet melancholy e-cries.
