The white 16gb with my name on it was mine. There was a stock shortage but one customer called and cancel his preorder (thanks to the exorbitant price). My boss came up to me and said "here, u can have this one mate".

I got 2 choices. I can keep it and brag, or I can sell it to the desperate people waiting outside and make a killing on my next commission. Oh well, it was a good 15 minutes . I think I'll wait for the next shipment.

is that the price for pre-pay set?

lovely-nya. UK is not going to release the pre-pay set until later the year.  not sure yet. maybe just before christmas.

Well, I guess that's it. I've exhausted all avenues and resources and ways of getting it, and every time, God put hurdles and obstacles on its way, preventing me from getting it.

1. Vodafone Auckland 171 Queen Street. Closed today on Sunday, and opens tomorrow Monday at 0900. My colleague is leaving by 1050, and does'nt seem compelled to face a possible lining up when he had to be ready for work, and leaving for airport.
2. MagnumMac stores in Auckland in Newton Road and Albany. Newton Road store is closer to the CityLife Hotel, but closed on Sunday, and open on Monday at 1000. Albany store is open today, but is far enough to be a deterrent for my colleague to even find it, for someone who is not familiar with the layout of Auckland. Last checked, the Albany store still have TWO 16Gb White 3G iPhones. So close, yet so faaaar away!
3. First Mobile stores, and in one of these stores, I have an "inside man". He had been graciously helpful on providing information on availability, unfortunately, all stocks are gone.
4. DS Wireless stores, do hold stocks of White 16Gb 3G iPhones as well. But, they INSIST on selling these iPhones on contract basis only, even after calling them and explaining myself that I'm an outside-of-the-country buyer, and buying it outright is the only option I have! God, why is it so hard to allow purchase of these iPhones ONLY, for God sake!?

That is it. I can step back now and safely say that I've tried everything that is possible for a person sitting in KL while trying to get the stars to align and arranging things so that things can be easy for my colleague to get the 3G iPhone without hassle. Destiny can be a cruel nasty b**** sometimes.............

And for the record, why am I so interested with the New Zealand iPhones? Confirmation that the 3G iPhone is fuly unlocked, all of them. All the iPhones are fully unlocked, be it stocks sequestered for contract or otherwise. Calls and texting,work right out without even needing any unlocking. Vodafone NZ supposedly locked the APN window to not allow editing of your own APN(you need this to put in your 3G settings), but there are reports on foreign SIM cards being able to access this setting, and those SIM cards with APN settings embedded on the SIM card is auto-detected and ran without the need to tickering at all. Zero need to unlock, almost zero need to tinker when your 3G is embedded.

Second try......3 days and counting. I dont learn my lessons , do I?

DS Wireless, Digital Mobile, First Mobile, Student IT, like it or not, they are Vodafone Retail Store. DSWireless especially, I so want to report them to Vodafone right now. Bloody bastards! I think they still have loads of stock but because of their dodgy reputation, they are having trouble unloading them to On Account customers.

Queen Street only, or the others as well? It wont be cheap, but I'm getting my buddy there to scout out the Vodafone stores in New Lynn and Mt.Wellington as well. You need to get out of city center to secure a unit. It's like a growing concentric circle, and it's radius, epicentered out of the Voda store in Queen Street, is already reaching Vodafone store in St.Lukes. If it's up to me, I'm willing to go up to Albany to get it.

so i have to ask optus to unlock for me? But in previous posts, those phones that can use msia simcard are unlocked prepaid iphone 3g isnt it?
