Our guess is as good as yours. We haven't a clue about pricing but expect the current iPhone price to drop slightly due to all the price war going on between traders right now and the 3G iPhone to cost more..

Nah, knowing Apple, I won't buy the 3G iPhone so soon. Remember the price drop only a month after they launched it? Ouch for those people who got it immediately.

Well, speaker quality is better, the standby time is longer, and the price is a very very big deal. Provided the phone is unlock-able, EVERYONE's gonna be sporting an iPhone from now on. There goes the exclusivity, whatever's left of it anyway.

Also guys, iPhone being released in Singapore is going to be really convenient in the future. No more tumpang friends to buy, probably have access to repairs (with a fee of course) and also local traders will no longer be able to command a high margin over iPhone sales..

Need, of course! What I mean is provided version 2.0 can be unlocked/jailbroken without problems. Apparently, Zibri has already cracked it so we'll see. But damn, the price is so darn cheap.

I don't quite like the fact that the new pricing means every noob's gonna be sporting an iPhone without knowing what it's about (Think of the current Nokia N95 but with tons more users because of the pricing scheme).

iPhone 2.0 upgrade is free for current iPhone users. It's just the software version. Anyone planning to upgrade? I'm gonna miss my current apps so I think I'll stick to 1.1.4 for now..

You sure? I'm pretty sure I heard plastic from the audio feed. And I know from my 1st Gen Nano that those things scratch like hell..

I think it's the right time to get an iPhone for new users but for current users, it's not really worth the upgrade unless you got some spare change lying around.

I'll wait for the next generation with hopefully a substantial storage upgrade (64GB? One can hope..), slimmer design etc etc. Time to start a "Should I wait for the 3rd Gen iPhone?" at the FAQ page..

Apparently the plastic helps with the call reception as well. Metal interference with radio signal or something like that. So all back plastic = better call reception? That's a theory..

Haha, not really, only got 3G and "assisted" GPS wat. Once you get past the "new" factor, it's not really that tempting anymore. Downloading the new ad on MxTube

Plastic back may scratch but the upside is you would get better signal reception. Maybe you should wait for when it launches in Singapore? For warranty purposes, might be better to get it there..

Well, the biggest problem is not unlocking as I heard the dev team already cracked it but getting your hands on one. If you need to sign up on the spot, you can no longer do the "buy now, activate at home but instead of doing that, lemme just unlock this" trick...

How are we going to bypass that? Bribe? Heehee, if Apple store run by Malaysians then can la. Only way I can think of is getting it off the ebay sellers, I guess..

Very typical of Apple, bundled accessories are always trimmed off every iteration of something. I predict the 4th gen iPhone will only come with a USB cable.. hah!

Haha it's a contract, use or don't use, you still have to pay every month. And unlike last time, you now have to sign up on the spot. There's no getting by it this time, AT&T has wisened up. There is a way, and that is to get the carrier free version which is available in Europe but it's gonna be expensive.

That also means that the 2.5G version can still command a high price, higher than US$199/299...
