we already know that some pictures are fake (the most popular one is the black iPhone on the laptop), but some pictures dubbed as leaked images by case manufacturer maybe still hold as credible (yeah until the real iPhone is unveiled, hahaha...). and yeah that's the case mold, so at least maybe we can get the idea on its dimension of the phone (if it's true), that's as far as we can know with that rumor. not the actual unit.
and what's interesting though bout that article is, mmm....just read this comment to that post, u'll get the idea,

This story is stupid. First of all the pictures aren't claimed to be from carriers, they're claimed to be from case manufacturers, so it means nothing that the carriers don't have them. Second, they aren't actually phones (I'm only talking about the recent white ones now), they're empty cases, exactly what you'd expect from case manufactuers. Third, the pics AREN'T of the cases revealed a while ago, for one they're a different shape, the back of these pics are curved, a different colour and have a different front. Fourth security at Apple SUCKS, have you completely forgotten the fact the iPod classic interface was leaked? The iPod nano was leaked. The Aluminum keyboard was leaked. Details of the Aluminum iMac were leaked, the MacBook Air name and specs were leaked (including very accurate reports of what it looked like). Apple hasn't successfully kept a secret since the iPhone. Fifth, the most recent white 'leaks' match Engadget and iLounge's reports PERFECTLY.
so cut the story short, yep carriers have iPhone 2 but not necessarily all the rumors surrounding this iPhone 3G are fake. unless the carriers themselves have the actual full unit.
btw maybe now is time to just wait for the actual product, it's just around the corner. nyum nyum...
(but yeah, rumors are fun!)
