Why are people here talking about RM999 pricepoint when the news of iPhone coming to Malaysia is yet to be confirmed? So desperate for the iPhone until make up your own news ka? doh.gif

Anyway I don't think Maxis gonna subsidize THAT much to get the phone to RM1K ++ no matter what plan they put. And yeah ... where did they get the RM999 price point also got me confuse. No news of any malaysian carrier have the rights to bring in the iPhone but already have the price. rclxub.gif

The best sollution is to buy from NZ coz its fully unlock from the start. No need to hack or crack the phone to use it locally. We just need to jailbreak the thing if we want to use 3rd party apps (not apps from appstore but from Cydia or Installer). Getting it from US means u'll have to opt for hardware method to hack the phone to use our local sim. This have been discuss before hand. If its the 1st gen iphone then its not problem getting it from US but its no more in production. Maybe u r refering to the 1st gen iphone and not the 2nd gen (3G).

Correction - it not unhackable but unlockable (yet) using software method. Not unlock (locked phones) means u can't use other sim other that what its locked to such as AT&T. Right now to unlock these phones, people are using a hardware unlock with a sim piggyback solution.

Added on August 21, 2008, 3:20 pmAUS iphone are locked to the telco but u can request it to be unlock but with an unlocking fee. Search in this forum on the charges.

The fuss is that it's been discussed already and there's even a pinned thread about it. Try looking at the iPhone FAQ and you'll get the answer. No need to read all the 18 pages to get the answers or 92 pages here. Its on the 1st page and 1st post of iPhone FAQ. Now you get whats the big fuss is all about? (shows that people don't read the damn pinned thead)
