Yeah, i understand that it is still locked to the specific country. But that is least of my concern for now as i believe the unlocker for 2.0 (and specifically, 3G) iPhone will be released sooner or later. And since that your friend have demonstrated that Maxis works well with NZ iPhone, that is even better because I am using Maxis |

Absolutely no hurry. It is for my girlfriend actually. When she (finally) wanted to get the 1st gen, the stock run dried. Otherwise she might wanna get the Samsung something instead. I rather her having the 3G iPhone. I wanna play Scrabble multiplayer! |

Oh ya, any idea if the GPS works well in Malaysia yet? I mean they're using the current Google map rite? How good is the Malaysia map? Even on my current iPhone, i haven't been using the GPS much because i don't subscribe to any unlimited data plan....and not like i need to know where am I. Ah yes, i know about the turn-by-turn thingy. What i meant was, is the map for malaysia is anywhere near to maps like MapKing, etc. Those i've seen on standalone device are pretty impressive. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Aug 6 2008, 07:06 PM) Shame on people who do their "businesses" based on someone else's hard work. Namely software unlocks. What's even more disgraceful is the business ethics of certain people who slaughter their potential customers with ridiculous profit margins. I've actually mentioned this very long ago. But i got verbally attacked by these "service providers". So i rested my case and didn't wanna argue further. But i really would like to bring it up again. DevTeam and Zibri (though not many like his work) have never charged their users a single cent for all their work. Who are you (the "service providers") to make money out of it? I'm totally against the idea but of course, it is up to them. @baretta I'm hoping there will be an unlock tool because i'll be getting a US version. Worse come to worst, i'll have to resort to hardware unlock, though the DevTeam has specifically recommend against using it. They however, reported some good news up in their blog the past couple of days. So i'm being hopeful |

RM999 will make Malaysia one of the cheapest place to buy the iPhone 3G. Are you sure it is the iPhone or is it the CSL phone?

I know that Optus don't sell out-of-contract iPhones anymore. What other options do i have if I wanna get one from Aussie? Of course i need it to be unlocked as well. This post has been edited by zc_squash: Oct 26 2008, 07:00 PM |
