monthly contract fee = rm200 (according to your conversion) x a number of months. if they only sell it for USD215 + rm200 monthly for at least 12 months contract, do you still think it is a good deal? unless you stay in japan and utilise what you have paid monthly.

my mom will go to uk next month...is it worth if i buy the new 3g iphone there and unlock it here in malaysia ?? please help to advise...

It will be released on July 11. Will your mum be there around then? If you can stomach the pay as you go price which I think is unannounced as of yet, then why not? It's a great phone..

Apple's iPhone 3G To Go On Sale At 8:00AM On July 11th?



Don't take a vacation day just yet or anything, but early word has it that Apple's iPhone 3G will actually go on sale at 8:00AM (local time, most likely) on July 11th. If you'll recall (how could you forget, right?), the original iPhone didn't go on sale until 6:00PM on launch day, but considering that the whole checkout process will likely be a fair bit more involved this go 'round, we'd say it's a smart move to get the line rolling early.

Ermm ... yeah, actually I do stay in Japan now and the normal monthly bill comes up to around RM100++ already and this is without the unlimited data usage. So, paying about RM 100 more for unlimited usage is quite worth it, IMHO.

IN australia, if u pre-order it with Optus by paying AUD100, u can go to take the iphone at 7am sharp which means 5am msia time.

Just to correct smokepsp32, actually it will be sale on 00.01am 17july NZ time so tht means 8pm 10/7 msia time.

last time, anyone can just pop-in, pay, and walk out with an iphone.

but this time, unless the non-contract set is released on the same time,

you will need to walk-in, understand the contract thingy, read and agree their T&C, wait for credit check/proof, sign and finally walk out maybe with an iphone, maybe not.

do not expect its the same for this time with last time. many things have changed.

An australian website already put the price tag for the upcoming iphone 3G model.

wow $699 for 16gb unlocked version.. about rm2200...
i hope its not gonna get higher than rm2500 when it come to malaysia.. hehe.. so that iphone can beat htc touch diamond. LOL

I'm actually more excited in getting firmware 2.0 on my iPhone.

That is for non 3G version. It will cost 775AUD for 3G 8GB and top up another 100 = 875AUD for 16GB. Woot.
