Do you mean the about the Valve Cover ?
Mechanic told me to change the Valve Cover now, cost RM280,
because got oil leaking around the Valve Cover area.

Is it common to change the whole Valve Cover just because only the Gasket spoil ? he said no selling only the Gasket,
in order to get the gasket/seal, must replace the original Valve Cover RM280...

Is that right ?

May I know what types of engine oil do Kenari accept ?
My engine oil is leaking, so need to fill up frequently now.
Temporary only, I planned to fill in other spare oil use 1st then bring to repair.
There are many numbers in engine oil blush.gif

onto my Kenari ?
It was taken from Alza when doing service car, it's extra.

I intended to temporary fill up the Kenari's Engine Oil leaking issue.
Can do ? Any Problem ? blink.gif

Someone advised me b4 use either 10W-30 or 10W-40 for KENARI.

Anyway, actually what's the difference between 10W-30 & 5W-30 ?

Replaced Kenari Engine Valve Top Cover sets with Gasket = RM250.00
(Including Labour)

Replaced due to Engine Oil Leaking, replace Top Cover 1st, after 1 week if no more leaking, then safe.
If still leaking, need lift the whole engine to replace other seals below.
Might cost around RM800 - RM1000 including labour.

Cost okay ? Any comments ?

May I know for Kenari (Auto),
the Timing Belt consists of what items to replace ?
Is it must come in SETS ?
or combination of few items ?

Someone told something like.... Timing Belt & Timing Belt Seals.
Is this 2 different items ? or else ?

Thanks.

i have the same problem too...
engine oil leaking...
but if not mistaken, my dad sent to workshop to change the gasket..
but till now, still got leaking..
So, i wonder what is the solution...
if 1000, need to wait longer...

Mine had done the Top Cover parts only.
After 3 weeks go check, most part NO MORE leaking.
Observe from bottom, there are some very minor leaking, which not that serious as previously, does not need to fill up oil also.
This bottom minor leaking need lifting the whole engine, in order to replace the Seals underneath.
I plan do it later, together do other inside, eg. Engine Mounting (Original), All Seals/Gasket, Timing Belt Sets, etc....
I am preparing RM1800 for all this later, might be less than RM1500 as informed.
Depends wear & tear conditions parts inside there. Age old liao... blush.gif

Mechanic say to change my Kenari aircond compressor
to "kereta potong" version with cost of RM520 (include labour)
He say it is bigger type than the original small type. I not sure what he say about it.

He show me my existing aircond compressor is a modified bigger version which is hitting the engine mounting screw.
He say the proposed compressor would be slightly smaller than the existing in order not to touch the engine mounting screw.
Any advise ?

Is this price (RM520) okay ?
