laugh.gif

so ur going the same way as i am la?? Myvi brakes?? laugh.gif

AXT dun wan la.... waste of money coz theyre only as good as stock rotors... mebbe even worse... have a friend using it on his myvi and hes complaining... too many complaints about the axt honestly. ive never heard a single good comment about AXT doh.gif

anyway...if u truly are going the myvi way.... perhaps u should read HERE onwards. some brand names like Maxtech and SPS were said and from what i can see they do look interesting. priced about the same as the AXT too...

anyway..it aint K2OC only complaining about the discs man... my friend changed to AXT coz his stock warped. heck myviclub oso complaining like mad... my colleague has already changed his twice and still has the same issue.

true....but i dont intend on going BBK....

but if VTTR has replacement plug n play rotors for myvi brakes then shouldnt be a problem la...can find stock sized myvi pads easily. if they dont, then have to look for other solutions already coz BBK are expensive..

actually i did a lil research on VTTR, quite known outside the country as well.. so i guess shouldnt be a problem..

too bad the current myvi setup sucks - vibrating like mad, i need to pinpoint the problem before i let you guys know sad.gif
*
uiks....pasang already???

vibrating...most likely warping la.

oh n i checked out the VTTR on saturday at RSOne. no myvi rotors yet... expected to arrive after CNY.

also, theyre most likely not plug n play...dude said will come with the rotors as well... so im guess its definitely a BBK for Myvis. not sure if itll be PnP in our cars or not.

only thing left would be to check the SPS and Maxtech rotors... i know where to check for SPS... Maxtech no idea doh.gif

yeah i know....but dont have much of a choice honestly...

would really like the Brembo MAX but they dont make for Myvi sad.gif only Brembo AM available through zth forums afaik

the Maxtech supposedly is quite good according to 1 K2OC feller whos using it for the past 6 months. but i cant find jack on them online. not even a pic.

the SPS will be going on saturday to check it out up close.....

but if all oso unattractive to me then i guess ill just have to go for the D-Sport rotors for RM380 PER PIECE moneyflies.gif theyre gold in color and looks pretty sexy to me laugh.gif

Added on December 1, 2008, 12:47 pmoh yeah...wat pads u using for the Myvi rotors?

speaking of myvi rotors, i was researching on a few myvi rotors myself...n found these.... mebbe it can help...

SPS rotors... RM440 per pair
- dunno anyone using this... but a friend of mine who has a shop in sunway said he has quite a few Myvi customers using those rotors and theyre happy with them. he also recommended them to me
- already went to the shop to check it out...seems decent enough

Maxtech (RM480 per pair for rotors only)
user posted image
- Scanned this from this month's Extreme Kars magazine
- i only know 1 K2OC feller using for his Kelisa and hes happy with it... he highly recommended it to me...havent had a chance to check it out in person yet though
- the RM800 package is actually very interesting.

IMP rotors. (RM380 per pair)
- dunno anyone using it
- i think its under Improve (the suspension brand)
- got this from the Extreme Kars mag but didnt scan...
- ad says "unwarpable"
- no warranty though
- can view in Terminal One Motorsports in Sg. Buloh. ive dealth with them twice before while they were in sunway, before they moved, and theyre nice people. would recommend them.
- havent checked it out yet

Brembo AM (RM4xx per pair)
More Pix
- BREMBOS!!!!! but not slotted or crossdrilled so has that OEM look
- location in old klang road
- dunno anyone using it
- never checked out myself

@kev da man
ur myvi discs u pasang already right?? how was it done ah?? did they have to use the Myvi knuckle oso? or simply put the calipers and disc on ur stock knuckle? coz if using stock knuckle, then the RM800 package from Maxtech would be really bang for buck and can easily plug n play to our cars.

QUOTE(ravewar @ Dec 31 2008, 11:39 AM)
anyway, u posted up this max tech image....it said "good news for MYVI owners.....etc etc". Wondering why u need to change calipers?
*
ive heard that the myvi calipers arent that good either, they can jam up or something like that...but then never really read or encountered anybody who had that problem.

guess its just one of those rumours thingy......need to take it with a grain of salt.

QUOTE(kev da man @ Dec 31 2008, 12:25 PM)
IMHO, and IMHO, SPS is overpriced for rotors that are sourced from other OEMs.
i'd got AXT or brembos or bosch, at least the brands are proven to provide a good minimum level of performance wink.gif
*
i wouldnt wanna go for AXT. too many negative feedback about them... i even heard of them warping before laugh.gif

Brembo yeah of course... brand name is there. same goes to bosch....

but in regards to SPS. pricing is standard for crossdrilled and slotted rotors. so even if they are taken from other OEMs, and if they do improve braking, and gets rid of the warping issue...id say its worth the money. feedback so far seems to be good. so its under one of my considerations for now...

n u didnt answer my question...

ur myvi discs u pasang already right?? how was it done ah?? did they have to use the Myvi knuckle oso? or simply put the calipers and disc on ur stock knuckle? coz if using stock knuckle, then the RM800 package from Maxtech would be really bang for buck and can easily plug n play to our cars.

a piece of salt for you. corssdrilled rotors are not *drilled*. they are cast in a mold with holes built into them. if you drill your standard rotors to achieve a crossdrilled effect, you'll most probably end up with rotor fracture, which is the killer.
*
yep...known this loooooooonng ago....

QUOTE(kev da man @ Jan 4 2009, 12:19 PM)
Rm800 package will need bigger rims as well, don't forget that wink.gif and its a bit too much to pay for front brakes alone, when you can achieve the same braking performance with EG rotors + better pads.
*
already running on 15" so not too worried.

but with RM800 u get brand spanking new parts... thats what makes it bang for buck.

QUOTE(kev da man @ Jan 4 2009, 12:19 PM)
besides, if your master brake cylinder is the same, there is no additional brake pressure, so pedal feel will be exactly the same as before.
*
good point.....

upcoming plan,
considering better lowered spring, any idea?!
a simple, good looking, and easy to wash 14"X5J rims
upgrade on braking, any idea?!
exhaust extractor, any pros and cons between the branded and the so-called custom made from exhaust shop one?!
Ultra Racing, current in my list is rear antiroll bar, fender bar, lower and upper room bar...

Added on March 15, 2009, 7:30 pmoh ya, other then Goodyear NCT5 have 165/60R14, what brand have the same spec?!  it's good if i can get within m'sia, better to be around klang valley, i don't need something to be special order from overseas...
*
my thoughts on ur upcoming plans...

loweing spring.. ive always been a fan of GAB... but lowering springs with stock abs tend to make the stock abs kaput faster... best is to change all at 1 go... otherwise, theres the TEIN Dress-Up Master... its a lowering spring designed to work with stock abs.

rims... i have the same thoughts as u... aka easy to wash... but ive always been a fan of 4 spoke rims (lesser spokes easy to wash tongue.gif). but the only 4 spoke i know that has 14" would be the SSR MK-IIR (commonly referred to as SSR MK-II) ...other alternatives would be 5 spokes i guess (RP01 brows.gif)....at the end of the day... its up to ur own personal taste.... but my advice.. if ur going for 14" might as well go for second hand jap rims... the prices for 14" are actually quite reasonable.

upgrade braking...talk to kev.. he has the Myvi front discs... a forumer with the nick boolat is selling them in ZTH for RM250 full set.. just need to skim the disc and change the pads. everything else is plug and play...if not... a brake pad upgrade will do fine as well

custom exhaust systems are fine... but im not a believer in custom extractors..when it comes to extractors id go only with branded ones. mainly coz extractors are the most important and sensitive part of the exhaust system..so brands would have made some research on the gas flows unlike most custom ones where they just cut and bend to fit. brand id recommend would be Marco...bang for buck. around RM500 can get full set from extractor to tailpipe. and there has been many good feedback on them. theyre also only slightly noisier than stock...meaning u most likely wont get into trouble with the authorities for noise.

anti-roll bar first... next to a suspension upgrade, this makes the biggest difference in terms of handling.

tires... there are sooooooooooooooooo many choices for 14" man....unlike me running on 15" so limited. 14s even have the AD07...but id recommend the Hankook V8 first. from feedbacks, it supposedly excels where the AD07 lacks... in the wet.

ive heard of D2... but never heard of them for kelisa or kenari... or any K-Kar for that matter.. they mostly cater to more common performance cars like hondas, nissans, mitsu etc etc

D1...got.. full name is D1 Spec... im currently using it in my kelisa...can view it HERE

bought the kenari for my fiance...easier for her to move around coz her practical starting soon and she needs transport (no public transport near her house)

found the car on mudah and bought it from a very nice couple who works in a used car dealer (its their personal car). their connections managed to help me get the loan thumbup.gif

not buying for her la....i already got the seats in my car...might transfer to her car coz she back pain with the stock seats. she has severe back issues....every 1 or 2 years have to see doctor to inject fluids into her spine...stock seats she sit her back starts to hurt. but with the NSI shes ok. even my kelisa stock seats last time oso she back pain...stock seats has sucky lumbar support.

only doing the seats la...nuttin else. no plans for her car yet..coz my car oso not completed yet...but IF i decide to mod...its gonna be MDM la...want to stay legal...mebbe convert to Aerosport...but maintain the green color brows.gif
