Hi GT fans

Im new to this forum as you can see my join date  rclxms.gif but i am definately not new to GT series... I've been a fan of Gran Turismo since it 1st came out back in 1998... but due to work, I had to leave my beloved gaming world behind... much recently i find myself to have some spare time and bought a PS3... I bought a few games like SF4 / Fifa09 and MSG4 and was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo tempted to get the GT5P as well...but seeing that the full version GT5 could be released some where Nov 09 or so i heard or maybe not.... lol  biggrin.gif Should i just wait for PD to release GT5? or go ahead and buy GT5P???

Will prolly be getting a G25 for GT5 and also DIY a playseat (If I have the time) since its not available in Malaysia... and if were to import 1 in from Playseat... price could range from somewhere between 550Euro - 650Euro (including shipment fees + tax if any)
rclxub.gif

saw this guy made a racing cockpit from a very old exercise bike and its definately way cheaper and by far the best DIY playseat ive come accross on the internet...

Any opinions or advise are appreciated....

Cheers...

my 1st post which was the last 1 on page 61.... just incase non of you guys saw it...

anyways... why dont anyone get distributor rights from playseat and sell those seats in malaysia... is there no demand ? or just that no one cares about fanatic gamers in malaysia? will anyone actually buy them if playseat sells thier big boy's toys in malaysia? i think the price would easily go up to rm2k if not more...

cheers

Thanks.

Actually, it's a matter of preference on which kind of car you would like to drift with.

I started to learn to drift in GT5P with cars that have the FR chassis. Good starting FR cars would be the 350Z, or M3.
If you're quite familiar and able to handle these 2 with ease, you could move on to more powerful FR cars (599, DB9, Corvette or the Blitz ER34).

Have their power output increased to a certain amount, not too much and not too little. But if you're going to use lower-end stock cars to drift, you could always try maxing out their power output and slowly decreasing it every time you feel it's not right for you.

I usually leave the weight and the aerodynamics untouched.
Have every single driving assist turned off, including the ABS (you have to set it to 0 manually through the tuning menu as it's always set to 1)

I usually have my tyre set to N1/N1. Some people prefer N2/N1, or S3/N1. It depends whether which you find easier to control.

Having the right amount of power that you're comfortable with will give you a good throttle oversteer. What I usually do to start a good drift is align your car to the angle you wish to drift, ease off the gas, hit the handbrake once, flick the analog stick to the opposite direction, and slam on the gas while holding the analog stick to the direction you're going.

If you think the car is going to go out of control, let go of the throttle and make your car go into angle again and repeat.

I couldn't teach you how could you do it with a wheel, because I don't have one sad.gif But with the concepts you should be ok. Hope that helps.

i saw your post - if you call yourself GT fan - then you definately have to buy GT5P

Few pages before, i posted a link to self made cockpits. The reason why nobody wanna bring them in is the shipping will be expensive. I remember when GT4 came out, one shop at Imbi imported one of those playseat - with recaro seat - and the price tag was 4K sweat.gif sweat.gif the thing sat on the shop for weeks until some dude from Klang bought it.

Better wait for the full GT5 coming out end of this year (crossing fingers). Or if you can't wait, try getting the 2nd hand copy of this game from some of the forumers here are selling. wink.gif

Don't think anyone would sell their copy of gt5p biggrin.gif

I've sketched out the frame for the cockpit and only waiting for measurements to transfer the frame with measurement onto autocad...will prolly take some time till I can complete it coz only doing it on weekends... Will post a pic when it's done... Someone here could be interested biggrin.gif

How old is he now? I'm not a big fan, but the last time I can remember was he driving for the Jordan Mugen Honda F1 Team in the late 90's. Or is that another person?
