Tsk,

Firstly, The probabilty of them upgrading the graphic processor is close to nil as by doing that they are shunting the old version of NDS. And from all accounts of what Nintendo have been doing, Graphic is the least of their concern.
They might take out slot 2 or readjust the location of the speaker and mike to provide a slimmer top screen. But that is just my 2 cent

As for courting girls with psp or ndsl. Good lord. do u get the device to play game or to "attract" girls? And furthermore, its not the device that attract people. Its the game.

My gf enjoy Loco Roco on PSP and Taiko No Tatsujin on NDSL. She play both console liberally and from time to time. I did question her which one she like and she prefer PSP due to its better graphic and nice design.

Anyway, the thing is this. They might redesign the NDS but when will they launch it. Is another matter altogether.

And if you are planning to get an NDSL now, Just do it. There is no reason to hesitate. NDSL as it is now is superb. And for all you know, the new NDS might not be as nice. Take Game Boy Micro for instance. That one is the latest in GB line but it is anything but great and a lot of people prefer SP over Micro. This MIGHT happen to NDS too.

Dont think they will remove the slot 2 as currently there are many peripherals that support it and not to forget the upcoming hit game, Guitar Hero On Tour. This game is practically useless if there is no slot 2 for it.

Secondly, I dont really agree with the flop of gameboy micro because of its design. The reason that i could think of its flop is because it was released alongside nds or ndsl(which one? i forgot already), and nds was doing great at that time with revolutionary gameplay and a myriad of new games could be found on nds, no wonder gamers would prefer nds over the redesgined of gba. If there is a grip of GBM, I would say it is because GBM cant support gb and gbc games but as far as i know, not many gamers nowadays really care about this as they would prefer better gba games. Overall, GBM is a nice console that is greatly affected by the wrong time it was released.

True that

But it still does not deny the fact that consumer prefer GBA SP over Micro. Case in point, Jusco GBA Micro sales. If the console is doing well, they wouldnt be holding the sales in the first place. Play-Asia also have to do a weekly sale to let go of micro.

And the unability of it to support GB and GBC games might affect some decision. Granted I agree that there is not much reason for new gamer to worry about that.

As for the timing of the launch of Micro & DS

Micro was launched in Japan on September 13, 2005
DS was launched in Japaon on December 2, 2004

Thats a one year difference in there, and still it affects Micro that much in terms of sales. So baring any bad design to the "new" DS everything will go to hell.

gb micro was launched more of a collectors item/fad...don't think they really wanted to capitalise any market...

What kind of company releases a console, which is usually a time and money costing business, for collection/fad purposes. None.

It failed, that's all. Don't give it a reason saying that it wasn't released to be intended for high sales, cause that's stupid. Even from a laymen's point of view. It's against the laws of economics.

Edit: And in the topic, I'm skeptical about this one. Nintendo ain't stupid enough to redesign an already well working design and embrace the possibilty of a price slash on NDSL to sell their so rumoured NDSE. They already announced there will be no price slashes for any of their consoles for at least this year. For me, 90% false rating.
