as the topic says, what is it ? free to use ? means i cant go online if there's no wireless networks ?
and, how to turn EDGE off if it charges us money ? i wouldnt wanna surf the internet with it if we are charged for that service

simply put, it's an upgraded version of GPRS.
mmm...really can't wait for 3G version of iPhone, so there will be no more question of "eh what is EDGE?", "EDGE is a data plan what eh", without even doing a bit of research on that. if with 3G, no need to do any introduction. it's the most hyped wireless technology i've ever heard in Malaysia (considering the poor implementation of that technology here, while telcos are pushing a heavy sales campaign via advertisements). have a nice day.
