Hi,

I notice Plasma TV has very good detail is the picture is moving. My LCD image will start to blurr if the scene start to pan and move. Any comments from you guys?

Hi rx,

What dvb tuner card are u using? My teebee seludup from Ulu Kelang....(UK).

Yeah true, plasma looks pretty detail whether in sports or movies & the objects reflect tall and not short due to wide screen format in my Panny 42' Plasma TH-PV8H as oppose to most of other tvs.

I just bought the Panny 42' inch plasma @ RM4k after giving in the Panny player in the package.
I just love this babe generating very natural yet detail motion picture flawlessly. Would highly recommend to everyone in the plasma potential buyers. brows.gif

I am only using component cable to hook up the tv coz my old LG box home theatre system does not have HDMI output. I am worried if I get another HDMI dvdp to pair, then I cannot enjoy full DTS surrouund.

Seems like this thread is belonging to Plasma, so many Panny Plasma tv fans.........hehe, I owned one too *_*
Seems like Panny plasma is selling like hot cake now. If I were to choose a lcd tv, Sharp Aquos is the ultimate choice.

If Sony or Sharp or other lcd representatives came in here, we may see a SONY PLASMA one day........true?

Hmm, again so many plasma tvs are being suggested here. Further strengthen its demand.

BTW, I am also proud to own Panny Plasma as my correct choice. Whether watching astro or dvd movies, the details & rich but yet natural colour are flawlessly displayed on its pannel. Furthermore, it has 5 years warranty. What else could you ask for more for a price of RM4k?

My friend who is a tv technician says warranty of a tv is very important especially plasma & LCD due to its high repair cost. LCD & Plasma technical part is still in a vulnerable stage as some can become defects after one or 2 years. The fact that panny is offering 5 yrs warranty further prove that these models are of top quality. Notice that not all its models are 5 yrs.

TO me, the panny plasma screen does not reflect much image. It is true that the old CRT tv screen reflects even more! The heat can be felt when u place ur hand so close to its screen but thats only minnor.

I not too sure what is the CATS thing all about but i do think that it is important...
I been to a Pana shop at SS2. The boss line up a PY800, Pv80 and Pv8 and play a "ahem" DVD... PY800 of course is da best... Follow by PV80.... the picture quality DEFINATELY got different for PV80 to PV8, i mean to my eye la... MAYBE the seller din do setting... But when i ask him why... he dunoo say what the PV80 got 1 extra features ma.... I assume is this CATS thing coz i other than this... I only see SD and Physical different only.....
JUST GET PV80, NO REGRET!

I dun think there is a difference between PV80 & PV8. Many outlets already mentioned the PQ is the same only some features.

Beware that if they line up in a row for viewing, the tv closest to the transmittor will tend to get stronger signal. The signal will weaken the longer it travels to other tvs.

I prefer Plasma tv. But if I were to force to choose LCD, I certainly get my hand first on Sharp Aquos models. A bit pricey but worth invest in. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hello sifus,

One important question,

Do you guys experience some 3 very light vertical "shadow bars" close to left centre of the plasma screen when watching Astro ?? Are these shadow bars a burn-in issue ?? Or are they due to astro broadcasting issue ??

However, when I switch to DVD mode, they are not visible. They become clearer when watching football which reflect on the green pitch. They are vertically close the left centre of the screen.

P/s help thanks.

Not realistic to own a full HDTV now, too pricey until we consumer pays a pretty high premium. Full HD tv is going to cost you a fortune considering you need or a must to buy the expensive bluray player & its software.

We are not thinking of the full HDTV but its player too so we can see its full potential. I see no point in getting full HD if it does not have bluray source.

Panasonic 42" Plasma 42PV8 for RM3.8k. Excellent for Astro.  thumbup.gif

WHAT PV8 has dropped to RM3.8k ?? They claimed RM4,399 is promotion price up to Aug 31 vmad.gif

BTW, it is an excellent tv both for astro & movies. None other brands can challenge it at the price.
