the original Apple Composite AV Cable goes for about RM219 (correct me if i'm wrong) are there any cheaper chaplang alternatives available in the market? i dont really need the bundled USB charger since the iphone comes with one already. besides, charging RM200+ for cables are just unethical in my books. reminds me of the whole HDMI cable nonsense HDMI Cable: Price Gouging

thanks mugenfoo FYI QUOTE quoted from iLoungeApple is using lock-out chips to control third-party video accessory development and effectively preventing older, less expensive accessories from competing against Apple products. By including one of these chips in each of these new, expensive accessories, and requiring that the new iPods communicate with the chips in order to play back video, Apple has effectively created a hidden "video-out tax" on both iPod accessory consumers and third-party manufacturers-you literally must buy new chip-inclusive items if you want to see your new iPod's video on a separate display. For that reason, and though we recognize that iPod and iPhone owners may not be able to find less expensive alternatives to these three accessories, we cannot in good conscience recommend that you purchase them. if they had just sold the freaking cables for $20 i wouldn't have thought twice, but why the hell did they include the USB charger?

i actually don't mind the cheapo China ones after all they are just cables and not electronics. besides if they fail your replacement cost is still low. sorta like those China-made DVD players that can take any damn disc in any video format. beats the overtly sensitive sony crap player i paid good money for!
