Hi guys,

I just bought waja cps a/t late last month. I ordered it at Proton Mutiara Damansara and after 1 month, I drove to Kuantan the following day after I received the car. I've tested it on highway and completed my running-in of 1000km in just 3 days. I went for 1st service at Proton Service Centre Puchong and cost me RM105.23.

However, I have encountered 3 problems which I complained during my 1st service.

1.) Air wind whistling (not sure from front or door) when driving 100km/h and above - Status: They fixed the door but the noise is still there
2.) One power-window button were wrongly fixed - Status: They fixed it. No further issue.
3.) When driving between 100km/h - 110km/h, the engine felt heavier, it growled/roared harder and louder. It's sounded like when shifting between gears when the engine roared at certain rpm, but at that speed its already at gear 4. When driving at lower or higher speed this problem doesn't exist - Status: They re-tune the engine but it made no difference.

I wanted to know if the problems are commonly faced by others especially no 1 & 3? Or no 3 is not a problem at all. Honestly its quite frustrating because the speed range 100km/h - 110 km/h is what I drive normally. Can anyone help?

Sounds like a lot of problem. Makes prospective buyers like me scared.

All the problems listed should not be taken as indication that a particular car is not a good buy. There are various other factors should be taken into account should a prospective buyer want to buy a car. Unless the percentage of the owner facing problems is significantly high, I dont think the problems mentioned here should affect your decision making.

I bought my Waja CPS specifically to experience the new Campro CPS. I knew Waja have some known problems but it didn't deter me to get one for myself. The old problems gone only to be replaced with new ones. In my humble opinion, the total package offered by Waja CPS does indeed outweight the problems that I'm facing now. That is for a car under 70k.

With regard to problem no 3, I read some where in this forum it has something to do with the engine emitting odd noise (vibration) when driving in the range 2500 rpm. It occurred to me just now to check it out while driving from Seri Kembangan to Ikea. It turned out the speed range 100km/h - 110km/h does indeed fall into the 2500 - 3000 rpm range. Is it the same problem?

Most problem except the wind noise can be fixed during the 1k km service.  nod.gif

For problem no.3, it never occurred to me. Maybe I'm using MT. Even if its happen, just rev until 4k rpm.  brows.gif  laugh.gif

I've notice that the engine run quieter/smoother at 4k rpm when traveling long distance. The only problem is the speed at that kind of RPM is 140km/h (scared speed trap  sweat.gif )

I agree with you, for some reason, when I drive my waja cps past 120km/h the engine runs quieter and the ride became smoother (well except the whistling sound). It seems to me all the problem relating to the engine suddenly disappear.

I think, the VIM and CPS help solving CAMPRO problems when driving fast but LEM should now prioritise more on engine behaviour while driving at lower speed ( say under 120km/h) tongue.gif

On a different note, I really look forward if anyone here can organise a TT session for waja cps owner. We really can share information and probably some of us would like to seek clearer advice by directly showing the problem.
