Hello guys, I'm newbie here...just accidently found this site while searching info about my engine, CPS...i'm now riding on Gen2 cps 1.6 Auto..

ok, this is my info
--------------------------

Gen2 CPS 1.6 - iridescent white - Perak's plate number 7478 - 10,000++ km already - this week will be my 3rd service..

I have questions guys..actually from what i know, CPS is what proton said while others called it VVTi, VTEC, bla bla..etc etc...
so, is this true ?

another question is, while i'm riding my Gen2, from 2600 rpm increase to 3000 rpm, there is a 'unique' sound coming from my engine..
i'm wondering if this the sound coming from my 'CPS technology'..? those valves started to play, injecting in more fuel to feed their horses..??

I need explanation from experts...

(p/s: sorry, lazy to scroll back 116 pages) blush.gif

and about my FC, on my instrument says 6.1 L/100km...hhmmm, i don't think that one is accurate.
from my experience, my 'horses' drinks about 7L of petrol per hundred..

so, this means, if i drove below 3.8k, i'm not pushing my engine?

(i think 3.8k is about 130km/h)

From Proton's website, and also Paultan, CPS kicks in and 2800rpm..the graph shows comparison between ordinary campro and cps..
from the graph, at 2800rpm, ordinary campro drops power and increase again above 3000rpm..while cps will maintain the profile...

VIM switch over is at 4.8K, CPS at 3.8K.

if the CPS switch over at 6K, it wil be so near to the redline , it would be useless...  blush.gif

wow, i never drove my Gen2 over 4,500rpm (thats about 140km/h already), and how about 4,800rpm or 6,000rpm..
wow, scary...hehehe.. drool.gif

3,800rpm is at what speed ? never concern before..only reach 4,500rpm during overtake ~ 140km/h, and decrease back to 3,400rpm ~ 120km/h. (cruise control do it for me.. blush.gif )...

I  agree with you, for some reason, when I drive my waja cps past 120km/h the engine runs quieter  and the ride became smoother (well except the whistling sound). It seems to me all the problem relating to the engine suddenly disappear.

I think, the VIM and CPS help solving CAMPRO problems when driving fast but LEM should now prioritise more on engine behaviour while driving at lower speed ( say under 120km/h) tongue.gif

I agree with you..my Gen2 cps will "fly" at 120km/h....smooth as a silk...silent...just you and your horses...

Luckily gen2 didn't have this kind of problems..but guys, did anyone of u who drive gen2 cps, notice that steering wheel mis-align..

I notice my gen2's...when i take a sharp and hard cornering, my steering wheel didn't came back to its original place, slightly to the right or left depends on which side of cornering...

I want to highlight this problems during my 10k service next week..(but my mileage already 11,000 ++..hehe)
