Just came back.. Is 3M tinted.. Rm1400 for small saloon car.. Front windscreen, 4 doors and rear windscreen.
Front windscreen and rear windscreen are illegal is use the anti smash tinted... Can stand 400lbs force.

Haha.. I learned something today. How to differentiate a good tinted film and cheap tinted film. The way is just smell the tint gum.. The tinted gum which is good quality, the gum smell nice.. If is a cheap tinted, it smell masam. Haha...

means cheap tinted gum basi wan? hahah

I also not sure. When there tear out my cheap air cool tinted (Rm400++), it smell so masam. Then he tear another cheap tinted on his shop as well, also masam. Once he tear 3m and another more expensive de tint film, it smell good.. No masam masam.

i am using air cool too,..so far serve me good for 2 years...my IRR-infrared rejection is 82%, even higher than yours worr..but how ur tint reliable in preventing the glass from break,how to be so sure it wont break?..what technology they use?

it will break but in much longer time..

same as layer double windscreen...? i better spend that money on it for double layer windscreen rather than tint if i want a better protection..i am still doubtful whether tint which is just a tiny layer can do wonders in protecting the windscreen..

what if we do half half the screen .. still illegal ?

It cut UV. Firstly, I also get shock that it wrote there 99% UV transmission. But is block 99% UV. He use the 3M machine and show me all the detail when the light go tru...

Illegal to use front and back due for safety purpose.. It damn hard to break. If any accident happen need to smash window, then confirm take alot of time.. and the bomba will let you die only inside the car.


Air cool? Err... Actually air cool rate cannot believe.. Last time I use that air cool, Rm400 and wrote there IRR rejection is 78%, but once check on 3m machine, it baru 38%. Same as UV... Not accurate.

Technology of the tint film is the material.. Their use 2 ply of metalized dye and 4mil thick tint film. 1mil = 1/1000inch. It will break, but it used longer time. I see the movie clip, that man tested the tint film on a MYVI.. He continuously hitting the driver side window with old school helmet (uncle like to use de and it make by metal instead of fiber) around 18 times, the window don't even have a tiny crack. When it hit, you can see the force being reflect out. Another try by using rock. The rock get smash and the rock itself crack the window still in perfect continue. Only the window got helmet de colour.. It only crack when IF using sharp material and cucuk around 20-25 times depend on the force.



Got any lmst users here that haven't tinted? Can check whether see that your mirror got colour or not. Because yesterday when their remove all my tinted, I realize that all my mirror got abit brown brown colour..

Added on April 26, 2008, 8:40 amdouble layer windscreen? Sekali smash with helmet, all crack already.. Safe tint tinted give you more better protection. Safe tint itself which hold the window or windscreen won't get crack.




I i said here is for ORIGINAL 3M safe tint from USA... If those chap ayam or no brand as claimed is security tint film, then I dunno their quality.

not reali.. the conventional windscreen if continuously hit by a hard object, it will break within seconds.
but with security tint, it start to crack around 40 to 50 seconds and total break within minutes..
actually the purpose of security is to delay the time of your car being stolen..
