I came across this case from my usual source of technology-related news webpage, Gizmodo and Engadget. Which linked it back to the manufacturer, Ivyskin. Take a gander there if you like, but me being a fan of clear-cases made of clear polycarbonate and acrylics, this is a match made in heaven. Was stuck with a previous no-name brand, but clear case nonetheless. Then tried the Agent 18 clear case, but the assembly of the case to fit the iPhone into it made me dubious on whether the case could withstand multiple assembly/dissembly.

Enter Xylo T2. First thing that comes to mind:SHINY!. The entire front case is made of glossy acrylic that could serve you as a mirror if the need comes. The chrome section on the front end also accentuates the shininess of the case.

The bottom part, looked from behind cradles the bottom part of the iPhone before you slide in the back end into place. Very snug fit too. There are 4 little bumps at the back part of the case, so that when you lay it on a table or level surface, that surface does not end up scratching the entire back part of it, since the 4 bump elevates it.

All buttons are accessible, including the volume and silent buttons, power buttons and of course the Home button as well. One niggling issue that would deter potential buyer is that you dont have access to the SIM slot, you have to free the iPhone from the case before you can do that. It is an issue to me since i would need to swap my SIM cards on my trips to Japan.

Now, to the most important part, the front screen. So much advertised about its capacitive nature, that i feel that it does not befit the hype at all. The section around the dges are still made of hard acrylic, but as you approach the inner center part of the front, it turns to the material made almost like the screen protector , only thicker. Im not sure if screen protectors for the iPhone needs to be made of a special material to allow capacitive touch to work with the protector on, but if that material is present it is integrated into the front screen of this case. Whether you choose to have a screen protector over the iPhone or leave it naked and slip in this case, it works both ways. No issues of missed touches, or unresponsiveness of the screen.

Aesthetically, i couldnt ask for more. The previous two clear cases i have bloats the size a bit, but not this. Not by much anyway, and the front shiny chrome section sort of gives the impression that the case hugs the iPhone's dimensions snugly. It looks gorgeous to my eyes, and it fits my own criteria of choosing an iPhone case: it compliments the iPhone's looks by not hiding the dimensions or the design/logo of the iPhone.

Head to the link i posted before if you are so interested.

Do the screen carry smudges and finger prints?

Yup, as with all surfaces plated with chrome, it does need wiping.

That case is the EXACT replica of the Xylo. except that it is clear acrylic/polyC through and through. Same material, same membrane up on the front, and same assembly construction at the back. Also similarly sold is this case.

The case is German OEM, and they license out the design to other manufacturers.

As for me wanting shiny effects, that is a side bonus. I want clear acrylic first and foremost.
