Just installed 4GB Sandisk micro SD and loaded tons of stuff inside. Seems to be just as fast as when I put 1GB inside.

Tempted to get 8GB la, but scared won't work

what settings was this pic taken with? just night mode?

Added on June 23, 2008, 11:28 am
yes its possible ...

It is not possible to take that picture using K850i. That picture was taken with I Mobile 902 with night mode with flash off for an exposure of about 4 seconds. No matter what setting you use on K850i, you won't get an exposure time of 4seconds. It is needed for that taillight effect.

Yo dude.. Meaning to say k850i can use micro SDHC la........ but there is also the normal micro SD 4gb card....... Which wan is better? micro SDHC or without HC  for k850i.....

Added on June 28, 2008, 7:54 pmHow about the m2 stick.. which brand is better for k850i.. Is there any high speed card for k850i..
Anyway, sandisk  or sony brand better..

There is no micro SD non HC for 4GB card. HC applies for all cards exceeding 4GB.

When I take out my silicone casing, the flash works better. Maybe the cover is blocking some sensor.

I wonder if auto focus will still work with the telescope attached

Erm, I think you misunderstood me. I am using an external silicone sleeve to protect my phone. So I just slip it out of the silicone sleeve.

restart should be normal for most of the phones as it will happen commonly while memory usage low smile.gif

I don't really think restart is a normal problem. None of the handphones I've owned and used ever restarted on its own.

I just upgraded to R1FA035 firmware. No BROD problem. Upgrade went smoothly. Took less than 30 minutes.

Camera seems the same except for a very obvious improvement in the flash. Seems like daylight flash in working properly. However night time flash has not been tested.

Video cam seems the same as before.

Picture browser same

Music player is even faster. Using 4GB memcard with 700mb of songs. Loads whole list of songs and album art very fast, almost instant.

All other functions seems the same as the previous previous firmware. I skipped one firmware. I think i was using R1EA031 and skipped R1EA035.

Battery life will be tested.

You've updated our firmware already? Cause my purple fringing was lessened almost to 0 after update to R1EA031 and R1FA035. I think they have tweaked the image processing already.

all setting i use auto... when i use automatic or red eye flash... pics are sharp.. but when i off the flash..... pics like so blur..

Added on July 23, 2008, 8:50 pm

teach me how to play with the settings of the camera without using flash..... im tired of it.. is it this model like this or wad..... any ideas?
*
When you use flash the pictures are not blur because the shutter speed is high

In auto mode when the lights are dim, it seems K850i will prefer lower shutter speed compared to higher sensor sensitivity. The will result in better photos if you don't have shaky hands. If your hands are naturally shaky, nothing much you can do.

Added on July 23, 2008, 10:10 pmIndoor flash testing using R1FA035 firmware done. Results are awsome. Flash works 100% just like K800 and K810. You get that digicam flash quality already.

I took something about 2 meters away and the picture produced was very well lit.

Will post pictures soon.

Next up is outdoor flash.

My friend just bought an N82. Well alot of aspects of picture quality can be debated on, but one thing that makes me very happy to choose this over n82 is that at night, it uses LED flash to focus compared to the Infra Red used by N82 which is terrible when taking pictures of people cause they won't want to look at that infra red light. I do not know about the N82, but the LED focusing light can be turned off if you want to on the k850i.

Photo samples taken with K850i operating on R1FA035 firmware. Here you can see how brint and properly synced the flash is on the new firmware. As usual, longer exposure is preferred by the phone compared to higher ISO resulting in slightly blurry shots. I held the camera very loosely to illustrate this.

Night Mode | Flash auto | ISO Auto (Camera choose 200) | Exposure 1/8sec

Night Mode | Flash off | ISO Auto (Camera Choose 200) | Exposure 1/8sec

Auto mode | Flash off | ISO auto (Camera Choose 200) | Exposure 1/8 sec | Exposure bias EV+1

Added on July 25, 2008, 10:05 pmAnother thing I realized is that the picture is clearer with the stabilizer off. The stabilizer seems to make the picture blurry instead.

May I know what is the main disadvantage of this phone?

From what i heard, OS lagging and firmware problem.

Can anyone justify about it? Thanks o smile.gif
*
Only the very first firmware suffered from lag.

All firmware from R1CA029 and above do not suffer from lag. In fact it is very fast and responsive.

Touch sensitive button is a matter of personal taste I guess. Personally I like it very much.

One disadvantage i guess would be the unconventional d-pad. For me it is one of the best thing the phone has. But most dislike it.

Next is it is not on symbian so can't install s60 OS programs and there is no GPS.

No other major disadvantage I can think of.

if im not mistaken, theres a new firmware that increases the phone camera's quality. is that true? if it is i might b considering getting a k850i.
*
Well I've notice that firmware R1EA031 -R1F035 purple fringing is very much lessen but others still complain about it, so it could be we have cameras with different sensors and lens.

Other than that picture quality is the same.

Firmware R1FA035 seems to have fixed the flash sync problem. On all prior firmware, you will get a pitch black picture if you used flash.

The D-pad only up, down, left and right. Why u said it's unconventional? I feel it's special. Hehe..

Will the K850's sound better and louder than Nokia N81?
*
Unconventional because it is made of four lines in a square surrounding the button 2 and 5.

I do not know if the K850i will be louder or clearer than n81 but I know it is very good. At maximum volume, it beats alot of stereo laptop speakers and doesn't crack at high pitches. If you have heard K800i sound before, you'll know that is already very good and K850i tops it.

Can we insert both M2 and micro sd together? For example 2GB M2 and 2GB micro sd. So, total 4gb in phone
*
You cannot insert both M2 and Micro SD at the same time. There is only one memory card slot that works with two types of memory cards.
