There's people selling iPhone parts but it's quite expensive. Check garage sales.

mmm...looking for iPhone front part replacement (the glass part). lending the iPhone to someone, then what i know next is the glass part was break. but the lcd looks like still functioning. mmm...where can i find that replacement part? i've tried contacting someone in garage sales but still got no respond. so maybe people here that has dealt with iPhone part replacement previously can let me know some alternative. or maybe some trustable websites. thanks.
so far i also have checked mobile brando. it shows this LCD replacement: http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03030 so do i need to replace the whole front part? is it comes with the glass front panel? (or maybe it's time to move on, with iPhone 3G?) This post has been edited by LaskarCinta: May 21 2008, 12:14 AM |

QUOTE(LaskarCinta @ May 21 2008, 12:17 AM) thanks. i've look in here: Maybe u can read from here (http://www.ifixit.com/iPhone-Parts/iPhone-Display-Assembly/IF105-012) and that should answer your question.http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03030 my question is, izit comes with the glass front panel? or maybe there's another glass-panel-only replacement, as the LCD still functioning. The display consist of 3 part, the glass panel, lcd and digitizer. The glass panel comes with the lcd. So the one sold in Brando is the lcd + glass panel. |

mmm...i've snapped the pictures of my cracked screen,
and as u can see on the picture below, the glass part cracks from the earpiece area to the LCD (LCD is on the brighter part) so how will i proceed? looks like i gonna change the whole front set, as from i've read earlier it comes in one package. or is there any alternative? bro,
first of all, im very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident. if i were you, i will probably dismantle everything to sell as spare parts and probably top up the rest to get a new iphone. because there is NO guarantee that parts ordered will work (as they are used one) and you cant assess the remaining damage caused to your phone. what you see might just be superficial and you do not know the miniature damages internally. |

QUOTE(ff8ong @ May 27 2008, 01:52 AM) nope. common sense will tell you, it won't.impact will be transferred through screen protector anyway. unless there is such a material to prolong the collision time; F = (m(v-u))/ t even if there is such a material, the cost will probably be more than the actual iphone itself. |

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ May 27 2008, 02:03 AM) lol, i got pening already looking at rumus. mmm...actually the glass itself is very strong to withstand drops (yeah, lots of). before this it has never crack or even leave any scratch at all at the glass part, although i've dropped it many times. looks like the weak spot is the area near the hollow earpiece part. the moral is : never lend your iPhone. u'll never know what will happen.
