I really need some black eyeliner. Both pencil and liquid. I want the black to be really thick and dramatic as I've had far too many experiences of so-called 'black' eyeliners that require me to literally poke my eyes out by drawing the lines over and over again. Are there any good and cheap brands to recommend? Preferably with a budget less than RM40.

I personally don't buy makeup based on brands. whatever works fine works for me. smile.gif
if I find something I was looking for, the brand doesn't matter.

True, brands don't matter. Maybe I just don't have the luck to come across the one I'm looking for. sad.gif

Increase your budget by Rm10 and get the MAC eyeliner. You can go there and ask them to help you draw your eyes to see if you like the effect. If you like liquid eyeliner, i suggest this indian brand called lakme, i'm using it and the results are gorgeous!

hmm it's the skills that matter and not the brand.

I'm currently using elianto and I find it nice and reasonably priced and mostly importantly it does the same job like other branded eyeliners.

This is the one : http://www.elianto.biz/products/colour_makeup/EyeLiner.html

As for getting the dark and dramatic effect, I usually touch-up with eye-pencil after eyeliner. Of course volumize mascara play a big part too.

Also to share, I use this for removal - excellent to me as it's not harsh.

has anyone tried?

Hey elianto has replied to my approaches. Deep Sea Water Lip & Eye Make-Up Remover will be at stores by June 2008. Further, they recommended Promegranate or Cucumber Lip & Eye make-up remover as an alternative. I may give it a try as I'm running out of remover.

how bout gel liner?
you can try M.A.C's fluidline. i'm not sure about the price but i think it's around 40 to 50-ish? the bottle looks small but it can last you for very long! it's very easy to use and control (by using brush) smile.gif

im indian.
we thrive on eyeliner or kohl as we call it.

try the secret pearl pencil eyeliner in jet black.
doesn't smudge.
works like magic and its only 14 bucks.

to line your eyes, you can try jordana eyes liquid eyeliner.
it can be found at sasa for about 20 bucks, i think.

The Bobby Brown Gel Eyeliner is the very good and Black gives you like very black ^__^ which is why i had to use the black brown colour cos my mum said I'd look like a panda when standing at the make up counter ^^;; Very easy to wear and doesn't smudge easily. You will need a brush to apply it. If the bobby brown one too expensive then hope to watson or guardian's for a lip brush. It's close enough happy.gif And it lasts for a long time too without smudges and I have oily eyelids. But occasionally will have creases on the lids... just give it a gentle rub with your little finger while looking at the mirror and you are good to go again o.o-b
Kate has a powder gel version that looks good. Dunno much about it's staying power but review are promising. Clinique has a similar one too and Shiseido has it in many colours and with glitter if you are interested in the goth punk kinda look.

Cybercolours Liquid Eyeliner bought so many times but after few hours it seems to smudge off or fade to a dark shade of blue (Navy Blue) and it looks weird so I just wash it off. :/ I think Kate is better but now they came out with a new packaging and the brush is harder to apply.

For Pencil Eyeliner - Skinfood, CyberColor
For Gel Eyeliner - KATE
For Liquid Eyeliner - Cybercolor

These are around RM40.

P/S: Always apply foundation or at least make up base before Eyeshadow & Eyeliner.
It will hold ur make up longer.

Yeah I do. Dipdown (dark brown) is my daily staple. If I want black I use Blacktrack. I also have Brassy but I don't like it too much cos it's too light for me. I know alot of babes prefer Bobbi Brown's Gel Eye Liner but I still prefer MAC's Fluidline. I have a few BB's but I still keep going back to my MAC's. I really should sell off my BB's and MAC Brassy, hardly use them!

Last time I used Elianto's Frosted Liquid Eyeliner.
But the eyeliner in the bottle seems thicker and stickier after some period used. (4moths only if I m not mistaken)
But Elianto's Frosted Liquid Eyeliner is long lasting thou, and water proof too.
I think try the tester once and apply the liquid eyeliner on the back of my hand.
Then i leave it dry, and didnt use makeup remover to remove it.
And guess wat..
The eyeliner stays on the back of my hand for around 10days!!
No matter how i rub it, it wont go off!
So if apply Elianto's Frosted Liquid Eyeliner, you must use eye make up remover to clean it.
If not, it will stay on your eyelid for days!

Revlon Colorstay (smudge a bit)
Shu Uemura (thumbs up)
MAC Eye Kohl (disappointed, smudge like nobody business)
Kate Sharp Liner (quite like it but smudge a bit and stained my lids)
Majorlica Majorca (It doesn't smudge or stained my lids, will buy more next week for the price)

I tried these before:

BB Gel Liner (best)
Revlon Colorstay (smudge a bit)
MAC Eye Kohl (disappointed, smudge like nobodu business)
Kate Sharp Liner (quite like it but smudge a bit)

i am currently using OTTIE eyeliner (a product from korea) i bought during beauty expo. BUY ONE FREE ONE for only RM28 =)

waterproof and its easy to remove. Just rub once or twice with remover and its done! I love it!!! I have blue color too!!

Those who want branded eyeliner you can go for:
Shu Uemura liquid liner
CDior pencil liner
Make up forever cake liner (tho its a bit too much of work-non waterproof)

Hi,

I've been itching to try kate's gel eye liner. The price is a bit high, therefore i'd just want to make some careful research b4 getting it.
Can anyone please tell me your verdict on this product? Is it long lasting or smudges easily? Is it easy to use, cos there's a brush with it, so then will this be fine to use for someone who's normally rushing?
Thanks.

so far i have used the following :

bibo - smudge like mad -.-'
revlon - smudge a lil after 12 hours
kate liquid eyeliner - no smudge on me
maybelline liquid liner(the older packaging) - superb. i love this so much. easy application and it won't smudge. but i can't find it anymore
bb gel(curi use from my sis XD) - really good and if you could afford the price tag, don't bother searching for others. but if you're a new user then it might be a bit hard to draw the line nicely.

urm, regarding the eye make up remover, i used to use this brand too... yep, loved it coz it was perfect for removing eye make up... but i can't seem to find it anymore. the elianto workers said it's sold out. all they have left are the green tea ones... bring back deep sea eye and lip make up remover!!!  cry.gif

Review! Pricing is an estimate only(brain not quite as sharp ^^)

Bobbi Brown Gel Liner (RM80+ factor in a brush from Sasa)
It's good! No smudging or disappearing. Lasts the whole day. Decent colour collection. My favourite was Espresso ^^ Easy to apply but will dry a little after age.

Kate Gel Liner (RM 50)
Comes with its own brush. Smooth application. I didn't like the fact that it was powdery. Not quite gel in my opinion. It's like taking a wet brush to loose pigment eyeshadows. Smudges a little so don't try to run around with it too much. IF you keep in air-conditioned environments it will be fine happy.gif

ZA pencil liner(RM 20+)
Strong colour! Black means black with only one application. Sadly it smudges with just the littlest twitch. Works well i guess if you have Benefit's She-laq to go with it but that costs and arm and a leg.

Shiseido PN Automatic Liner (RM 98)
SO nice *__* and also a little bit sparkle to it. Not angeldust sparkle but more like Mica sparkle. It should now be the Maquillage line. Nice colours. minimal smudging but has a bit of flaking.

SkinFood Black Bean Eyeliner (RM15)
Smudges alot. I like the smudge sponge they have on the other end tho. Good for lining under the eyes just a little for that smoky eye look.

KissMe HeroineMake Liquid eyeliner (RM40)
My favourite at the moment. Blacker than night. Smooth and quick application. Mistakes are easily soaked up with a wet cottonbud. The thin brush makes detailed work and colouring between lashes(or fake lashes) easy as pie. Doesn't smudge, doesn't streak, doesn't rub off (unless you rub awfully hard). Doesn't even come off if you cry! Even after all that, it washes off with warm water and regular face wash ^__^

Majolica Majorca Automatic Liner (RM45)
Wonderful! Second favourite this one simply because of it's wide range of colours. The brush is not as thin as the KissMe one but still can be handled well. It's a cheaper version of what Shiseido has(same company anyways). The sparkly black is a nice colour. I like it in brown ^^ Doesn't last as long as the KissMe one and is prone to flaking if not touched up every 4-6 hours or so.

bought the Kate gel eye liner. Bought black. It's so darn tricky having to use a brush. Feel like wanting to go back to using pen eyeliner. Heard that Shiseido's really good and have refills. but of course, expensive.

The majolica one, does that have refills?

I remembered testing out the Orma intense liquid eyeliner or something brand in watson. the color was really intense. for black, color is close to freshly painted chinese ink.
Is anyone using this?

MM doesn't have refills for the automatic liner ;_; It would be cool if they did but so far it's somewhat affordable for that wide a range of colour choice o.o-b quality is similar to that of shiseido ^^

try red earth too~ its super black n glides on easily... its a pencil eyeliner by the way with a smudge tip at the end to create smokey eyes or a more natural look... its around RM30+ if not mistaken... can get it at Sasa or selected Esprit stores... but if ur eyes are prone to smudging alot, i'd advise u to get a liquid 1 or gel 1... once they are in place, they wont budge... but it needs time n practice.. i personally cant use liquid ones... smile.gif Also you can use a finishing powder to set ur pencil eyeliner after u have drawn da line to prevent some smudging too~! smile.gif

i use benefit's cream eyeliner(towne car) and Skinfood's cream eyeliner
Both gives me very black lines, but i am crappy at drawing with brush.

So i bought liquid liner from Majorlica, :LOVED it!! They have many colours. It is my Fave.
And i found a Cheap china brand called Heng Fang, it's very black, very firm brush too. But i can't find it again.

Hi,

Maybe I can help you with this.
I have the SMOKY BAR-BACKSTAGE MAGIC EYE PENCIL(Made in Italy).
If you really wish to have the effect on smoky eye maybe you can try out the eye shadow from Stage.
I will forward both picture for you to survey.
