Anyone notice the weird behavior of Xunlei? I'm using 5.7.7.441 AYU edition. Sometimes when Xunlei is running, either I didn't download anything or downloading is completed, it will still consume network resources from 50%-100% and my modem LED is blinking like crazy until I close Xunlei.

Not sure if the AYU edition still contains AD/Malware or not, can't detect any, but it's using near 100% of bandwidth even if I didn't download anything. That causes my other download program (FTP) to be slow like hell.

I didn't turn on emule or auto share and I even block BT/Emule ports using firewall, but still it will consume a lot of network resources. I wonder what is it doing at the background. Anyone knows?

This is nothing to do with AYU...

Xunlei is a P2SP program and it will scan your HDD so that you, xunlei user can use your upload bandwidth to help
other xunlei user download faster.
It is a good concept indeed but Xunlei seems upload at full speed even you have your upload speed at certain range.

What I suggest is close your Xunlei after you have done your download.
I do not aspect everybody switch to other client like UT but me personally do not like this program at all nod.gif

PS1:Well if you participate a lot in Chinese forums you will even know that some of the BT distributor stated that the first seed is anti Xunlei
and we can easily do it in UT by not ticking allow legacy connection.
PS2:Sorry for my damn poor english, hope you all understand what am I writing laugh.gif

Strange that I've block BT & Emule ports defined in Xunlei setting using firewall. That also didn't stop it from uploading? Also curious about "scan your HDD" part, so that mean it will share ANY file without my knowledge? I already clear all items in Xunlei download/downloaded/deleted list. All lists are empty, but it still got something to share? Now that's a bit scary.

I think I better revert back to FlashGet, since I seldom use BT and never use Emule. The only reason to use Xunlei is the download cache to reduce stress on HDD, but FlashGet also got that feature now.
