GarethXL, is novel hut located at 1 Stop? I've been there twice to buy 2 decks of mirrodin to try out.

poison doesn't effect creatures it's a replacement win condition when opponent have 10 or more poison counters on him.
and poison is dealt when a creature with poison does damage to a player.
that said i think what you're talking about is the infect mechanic which basically give a creature with infect the combination of wither and poison ability, where when it does damage to creature it give -1/-1 counters to that creature and when it does damage to a player it give poison counter instead of normal damage.
ohh and yeah its the one in 1stop

Hello Gareth, thanks for the info, which means infect will actually damage a 3/3 creature & become 2/2, so does it regenerates after that round? or it will goes on damaging the creature?
Thank you.

no since it give's the creature -1/-1 counters replacing normal damage.
and and the number of -1/-1 is equivalent to the infect creature power minus any effect that reduce damages

Hey does anyone know when do i get a Deck Builder's Toolkit? Im really interested in getting one. I live in JB.
Btw i just got myself the Phyrexian Poison Intro pack and was wondering how the poison mechanic works? Say i have Putefax which has infect trample and my opponent blocks with a 3/3 so does my opponent receive 2 poison counters?
My friend told me he only receives on poison counter for every creature regardless of what the power is. and that it also applies to creatures as well.
Please clarify. Thanks. =)

Getting Started

Dear all MTG veterans/fans, I just entered the working world and is looking around for a hobby as a mean to destress. I am hoping to find an interesting, challenging and fun hobby and at the same time, meet up with lots of new people. MTG comes to my mind. Actually I heard of this game for many years now but never seriously consider starting it. I used to play a lot of pokemon TCG during my secondary school days and am now looking into the possibility of making a start in MTG. The thing is, the game is so massive and huge that i don't know where to begin with. I googled and read lots of articles but im not sure if this is the right hobby for me. Besides, I am worried that this hobby may continously burn a hole in my wallet (which is bad ) So can anyone share their experience as to why they pick up and stay with MTG in the first place? and roughly how much they spend a month on it? Tq and i apologise if my request seems peculiar..

And not 1 poison counter minus 5 life points??

Putrefax is a 5/3 right? If it goes unblocked, the defending player will take 5 poison counters instead of 5 damage. Infect replaces normal damage to creatures and players with -1/-1 counter or Poison counters.
@Zaypher, I play competitive magic as competitively as possible. I spend RM30 a week on booster drafts (which uses 3x booster packs anyways), RMXX for tournament entry fees, and... that's it.
So, minimum RM120 a month. More if there's tournaments.
I'll borrow cards that I need to play with for tournaments if I don't have them.
