I don't remember how many rumors I have heard since 2006, now the latest rumor came out with an interesting view said the Diablo III will be announced at the next Blizzard World Wide Invitational, June 28th. TBH Diablo III is the only game Im really looking forward to.

I thought Diablo (the demon) actually died in Diablo 2.
There was only one left, can't really remember the name. Was it Baal? Therefore, technically the game should be called something else I guess.... |

Diablo did have a decent storyline but the game didn't explore its potential. All it had was mindless hack/slash and spell casting fireworks. Ok, we all loved the massacres so no complaints there hehe.
Should Blizzard give us a real RPG in Diablo? Where we could talk to NPCs, choose dialogues which have different effects, and solve quests in various ways (including combat and non-combat)? For a start I'd like to see the new Diablo to continue the 45 degree isometric view instead of the 3rd person view of recent ARPG games. |

or howsabout, diablo:ghost, where we play as an angelic stealthy assassin/spy/sneaky guy/girl/person sent to retrieve diablo's soulstone from HELL. imagine sam fisher/solid snake-esque character, sneaking pass demons, hiding in shadows in the pits of helllll. and discovering a conspiracy between the angels and demons to take over the worrrlld.. |

I don't know, but in terms of hack'n'slash, i still like Japanese style more. DMC, Sango Musou, Onimusha etc, you know it. Perhaps it's because i think 2D action game is not lively enough, lol. If there will be Diablo III, i hope it will be 3D action style like Fable or The Elder Scrolls series. 3D is the trend and it is unavoidable.
But don't be too happy about the announcements that Blizzard made. With StarCraft II still under development, i don't think Diablo III will be released within 2 years after SC 2 is released. Plus, you know that when Blizzard says 'Diablo 3 will be released in 2010', you better expect it's 2011. |

That picture is a hoax lar... a picture created to mockup players. Hellgate is a failure project from blizzards. Thats y it is stated as from the creators of diablo and y it isnt under blizzards.

Hellgate London is worse than Titan Quest
At least Titan Quest had a decent storyline compared to HL's skeletal plot (dumb NPCs in the game are like quest dispensers) Anyway, Diablo rules and I hope Blizzard makes it using all the cash they obtained from WoW subscriptions |

Blizzard acquired the domain name diablo3.com from the original domain owner yesterday. Are you thinking what I am thinking?
The old diablo3.com has been renamed to diablofans.com and will continue to serve to bring latest news regarding diablo series in the future. |

Have you guys visited Blizzard website? Blizzard has started to place certain "teaser" that could prove Diablo III might be coming.

The creators from Blizzard who did Diablo went out from Blizzard (Bill Roper and some other guys) and start their own game studio called Flagship StudioFlagship studio develops Hellgate. So they're right, Hellgate is frm the creators of Diablo. Not under Blizzard cos it's, not under Blizzard to begin with. "...from the creators of Diablo" is just another marketing tagline for ppl to buy the game. Just like Civilization IV game put in Sid Meier's name, altho Sid didn't have direct involvement in the game. |

My my my I'm playing D2:LoD now with my little brother. I wish DIII is real and the req. spec. not that high either. So we could play together. At least 1024x768 resolution. Lulz. I hate to play 800x600 on my big ass wide screen .

Im quite sure it is Diablo 3, as they already announced SC2 and WOW...no point for them to do that so mystery with teaser for something already announced??

Dont get our hopes down. I believe it will be announced tomorrow. I have been following hints here and there since Blizzard acquired diablo3.com. Most of them are pointing to D3 already in dev for quite sometime.

So all of those who have been patiently waiting for a sequel to Diablo will finally have their prayers answered this week ... and then will have to wait several more years.
