Hi, I sent an online query at hlebroking asking about their services as I wanted to start trading online.

However, the sales rep assigned to me told me a rather weird situation.

Now according to her, the hlebroking.com is under HL Securities, while the one that I signed up with her is under HL Bank.
And HL Bank's online system is still pending release.. sometime by the end of April.
So for now, eventhough my intention was to trade online, she can only offer me phone trading services for now.

I find this particularly weird, as her explanation doesn't make much sense, in either directions you look at it.
Why would Hong Leong wants to maintain/create 2/x sets of different trading system for HL Bank and HL Securities?

I can see there're a lot of HLeBroking users here, how did you all signed up for it?
What process you went through? Anyone else in the same position that I'm at now?

As far as I knew, HLebroking is a online portal by HLG securities. It has nothing to do with HLbank. Although they are all under HL group, but they are separated identity and has no relationship between them.

So if HLbank want to set up a nominee account like Maybank2U, then they can do it since it doesn't clash with HLebroking.

I would think the sales person didn't explain properly. So if you want to use HLebroking then sign up with them, not with HLbank.

The weird thing is, I went to HLeBroking.com, fill up the questionaire and pressed the Please Contact Me button.
How come a please contact me request pressed on HLeBroking.com under HL Securities ended up assigning someone from HL Bank to handle my account creation is beyond my logic to grasp......

Just wondering if there's others in the same boat. Hopefully, they'll get things sorted out by the end of this month.

what I can said is weird sales person. <-- or she doesn't want tell you the truth behind, purposely put up some lame excuse.
Becareful of this kind of sales person especially those come out with not making sense excuse. HLebroking is already there running, and people already using it.

Sorry I can't help you further, as I am not HLebroking users. May be some others users can help you on this.

There are plenty of online trading portal currently. Don't need to stick with one only.

Okay... seems like the eBroking by HLBank will be similar to the one by HL Securities, with the major difference of it being able to withdraw funds from your savings/current account maintained with them as well.

Apparently HLB's eBroking launch will be done in a few weeks time.

Well, that clears things up i guess.
