Hi all masters,

BUDGET RM2,000.

Music genre: Norah Jones, One Republic, Sasha and John Digweed, etc. etc.

I'm contemplating on getting ICE. I'm driving Waja with Clarion 5 CD Changer.

On my first stop, I was recommended Boston Accoustics S60 component and a Wildcat amp to go with Armadillo subwoofer.

Where should I began with? Speaker/ HU?? Amp/ SPeaker??

Other suggestions?

I heard of KK Lau and KF Audio. Anymore shops to scout?

Too much choices too little time. Thanks

One things for sure, when you start playing with ICE, it's like a drug which is bad habit which you cannot kick; $2K burn already than ask for upgrade maybe another $1.5K than 'syok' somemore until the sky is the limit. My advice is set your target at maximum $X & ask your 'trusted' installer to design your ICE to its ceiling not possible for upgrade anymore with the additional $1K or $2K stuffs, following upgrade will only cost you almost 'Double'; than tutup kedai-lah.

I might get it installed tomorrow or sunday.

With RM2K:

Where is KK Lau by the way? Thank you

For a $2K ICE setup all you need is a an 'honest' installer as it would be more of a 'hit & run' case. A good 'sound' setup may not necessary be using 'branded' stuffs as it involves matching & experience with the type of vehicle you wanna install.

It all depends on you weather the amount you pay is within the expectation you obtain from the end product which is the sound reproduction on the whole. If the above amount is the maximum you wanna spend on your audio for this vehicle without further upgrades, my opinion is to install a 4 channel amp, a front component set, woofer box set & a $700+ head unit. I think the sound will be better bang for the $$$ from your previous recommendation. Btw, what type of vehicle are installing these to?

I rather buy a Pioneer P80RSII + Diamond D362 or Focal 165A1 for RM2,700. I'm willing to give away a system free if anyone can prove me wrong (that it will not sound better).
