Hie, im a guy... anyhow, just getting in touch with my feminine instinct, i think gals need:

lotsa LOVE;
somebody to "share their feelings/thoughts/insecurities/doubts" a.k.a NAG at;
attention;
someone to be sarcastic to;
firm, broad shoulders where she could cling on to
a sensitive man;
a man who'd absorb all her nonsense;
a man who could buy her things she could only dream of and yet cares for her;
a man who'd reserve his eyes/heart/soul/time only for her;
alot of care from many people around her;
time for herself sometimes;
affection;
forgiveness;
pampering;
a serious lover with a good sense of humour;
TAMPONS (until her 50-ish);

In conclusion, i think that it's pretty impossible to please girls nowadays, i know what a girl want and needs, but it's too far fetched for most guys to fulfill all their desires...
