Is there anyone that could confirm this phone is available for demo-test in any nokia outlet in Gardens/Sunway pyramid?

Cant wait to get my hands on 1 brows.gif

I'm afraid you missed you chance, there were demo sets at Nokia outlets at Sunway Pyramid, Lowyat & The Curve this weekend. I went to the Curve outlet and they had 2/3 sets. Tried out the blue set, it feels very light and although build quality looks ok, it does not feel "solid", like for example the N85. Interface is ok, did not experience much lag as some say they have seen but then again I only played with it a little. The sales guy said expect it to be RM2K++ shocking.gif , I dunno if he's guessing or not but if true then not worth it. Better off getting an N85.

guys,

Based on the following news  (Link) Nokia in US is selling the phone at USD 350.  based on current forex rate of 3.6, it is around RM1,260.

Unless the writer is mistaken, this might be a different version as the writer says that the 5800 is not 3G, maybe that's why the low price? hmm.gif

Please allow me to make things clear.. the thing is the units they are selling in US does have 3G BUT as per quoted here "the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic we’re talking about here lacks proper 3G frequencies" means that the 3G frequencies the selling units have are not compatible with US 3G frequencies. FYI information US 3G is different than that other regions.. hope this helps  icon_rolleyes.gif

Just checked price from Pudu Plaza seller, 5800 AP set confirmed around RM1650. Seller recommend wait until official launch as price currently fluctuate weekly, last week around RM17xx and not yet stabilized.

At rm150 cheaper compared to Indo, i rather get it here. At least for warranty from AP company.

Agreed. I told my friend to get it for me if it was about RM1200-1300. Anyway, I think waiting till the official launch is the best option for now.

They have confirmed the pricing with the supplier and they said that's the price. Else, order can be cancelled if the price is higher, so I'll be still on the safe side.

The price I assume is for standard package and not the pre-sale package that includes the headphones and 1,000 songs download?

the touchscreen is using heat sensor or touch sensor?
*
You can find the answer if you read previous posts on this. The 5800 uses resistive and not capacitive sensor for the screen, meaning you must "press" to execute a command, where else the iPhone uses the static electricity from your fingers to work. Both have their pros and cons.
