not surprising since in UAE, some people bought it for about 1400 dirhams .dirham is more or less like ringgit value, a bit cheaper than ringgit i guess.

i think the guy bought 5800 in indonesia when the rupiah is below rm300 per 1 million rupiah... but rupiah suddenly went up this past few days..
i'm going to padang-bukit tinggi next week... it's not a big city i guess..so not sure the phone is available or not there... by the way end of january i'm going to jakarta, hopefully rupiah dip below rm300 per 1m again by that time and i might buy the phone in indonesia if it's cheaper after conversion |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Dec 18 2008, 02:42 PM) do you think nokia has phone factory for each country?? if i'm not mistaken all nokia phones from this region are made in china....in short they are from the same source. it's not that nokia singapore manufactured phones on their own. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Dec 22 2008, 11:49 PM) Uhh, not wanting to sound like a fanboi, I'd say for a 1.5k (AP) toy phone, it has a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitle bit more substance underneath all that hype than you'd think... my phone specs is the same as yours...I'd like to think of it as the 2nd, more feature packed reincarnation of the Original HTC Touch - a cheap touch phone for the masses (minus WinMo, that is... Besides, the Omnia / Innov8 / Iphone3G / X1 / Touch HD are all for different target markets, non? As for me, I like my cheapo smartphone wannabe to be: 1) Able to do the mobile WIFI groove (read: surf the net wherever I need it to) 2) NOT too HUGE. 3) Have a flexible OS that can handle at least a few useful 3rd party apps. 4) NOT too expensive (read: expandable and replacable) 5) Play me my music! 6) Play me my anime (the reason why I skipped the original Touch and got an Axim instead)! 7) NOT die too soon (read: reasonable battery) And as such, only the 5800 XM fits the bill for ME (for NOW at least)... For everyone else, what do YOU want your phone to do? Soul-searchin time, guys... i'm contemplating to sell my ipod touch 2G and an underutilise camera lens to fund this phone if i bought this phone, my ipod will be redundant since all the features that i wanted in ipod already in 5800 and i don't have to carry 2 things in my pocket This post has been edited by faizalmzain: Dec 23 2008, 12:00 AM |

QUOTE(link87 @ Dec 30 2008, 12:14 AM) hey, i just went out to survey nokia 5800.. its around rm16++ here, but i get a some shocking news from 3 dealers(incuding nokia outlet), they all said that the original set will be around rm24++, is that true? the differences will be rm1000 of course it's a total bullshit..even some AP in KL will quote you rm2.2K it's ridiculous when other shops can sell the same set at around rm1450-rm1600++ |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Dec 31 2008, 03:04 PM) Agreed... The thing is, AP phones DO NOT cover the screen as well as Ori phones do, in terms of warranty... i'm not sure whether the shop where i bought bluff me or not, but the screen got 1 year warranty..others got 2 years warranty, not including accessories like battery etc laAnd it's a FULL TOUCH phone... If the screen dies... If you're lucky, then, no problem lar... If not... |
