n85 got fm transmitter, 5800 dont have

is it worth it..and how's the touch screen, durable? i've never owned a touchscreen device before, but i did use it before...

26 Jan 09, one more month only. So the price for this phone should be stabilize in mid Feb 09.
*
price stabilize u mean lower ar? stabilize could also mean higher price right?

5800 more interesting physically...features wise n85 wins hands down

n85 5mp vs 5800 3mp
n85 fm transmitter vs 5800 no fm transmitter
n85 OLED vs 5800 bigger touchscreen
n85 got lens cover vs 5800 no lens cover

in your opinions, is it that much better than n85?

smaller lcd on the x1, but more ram and much higher battery life..

just want to know whether the lcd of the 5800 is durable..if a few drops of water fall onto it? what happens? if moisture?

wow shows the QC is very bad now. rushing to release the phone. Hopefully once Jan release the QC is better
*
even if you buy in jan, the phone would still be the same current production batches as it take months and months to do a new revised production..

so if you're planning to buy may or june or much later next year than okay la..hahaha.. if u can wait that long..

---------------

im thinking of buying either n85 or 5800... should i get the n85 instead?

Dude, you are on the wrong thread. You should ask this question in n85 section sweat.gif .
*
asked already...and btw Dude, you dont need to post here just to tell me that and increase your post doh.gif see the smarter side

anybody got problems or opinions with the 5800 screen? i've tried it two days ago.. it was okay.. but i can't see myself typing fast sms with 5800xm

if only they put a 5mp on this baby..then no competition... but slack only 3mp.. and i know somebody will say buy a digicam...but i don't wanna carry a digicam for pics..and a long phone.. im not wearing army pants..

Asked my friend to check current price in Indonesia as he is currently there - after conversion it's RM1,500 like that. Dunno if ori or AP as he did not mention. Anyway still much cheaper than here sad.gif
*
price like that? 1500? before official launch..
after official launch it should be lower..

meaning the 5800 is supposed to be cheaper than n85 right? ahh..that means n85 better la?

hmmm...i saw the thread of the ori zitron 5800.. i know it's not out yet but it's possible the ori 5800 would have a price of 1650-1750.. ORI ZITRON wooo..

have to make decision... sms ok or not on this 5800... it should be slower than typing on an n85 right?

durability wise? ---
pocket friendly? --
features wise? --
all the points i think can give to n85...

cool factor can give to 5800....
lcd size can give to 5800...

too bad no 5mp...or fm transmitter...

and how's the 5800's body? sturdy? i have concerns as it is plasticky..i hold one myself two days ago.. i'm afraid it won't take jeans' pockets nicely...as it is longer

yeah i did then suddenly the threads are flooded with news that the 5800 is here.. i'm like wth, gotta take a look myself.. have to make up my mind again..

yeah.. it think the ori price would be something in the range of rm2200 or just a bit above rm2k...

Added on December 18, 2008, 10:59 amit's not like i don't wanna take this new touchscreen phone.. this is a first.. i know..

newer symbian and all...but features wise, it's not that tempting compared to n85 which has more features than even n96 or n95 8gb..

camera slack a bit on the 5800...just passable in the 3mp

? do you know what is fm transmitter?

fm transmitter is for you to play all the mp3's inside your phone in the car radio or other radios...

tube-ians dont have this feature lohh.. bigger screen yes..but thats all there is to it... n85 also has fm radio with RDS too... heck did i say n85 has ALL the features..and i mean ALL...except infrared

Yea N85 has all of it...but one thing that always draw me away from this phone is the lifespan of the screen..i guess itll be of no use if i trade in that phone after 3 years time..

to panasonic,
renee selling at 1648 i think
*
lifespan of what screen? you're saying 5800 can last longer? blink.gif

ahhhh, i see!

sorry to say this, i don't believe in AP's warranty on LCD issues.

they could tell you this & that is under their warranty, when problem pops up, they will give you thousands of excuses to push the responsibility away. eventually, you still need to pay in order to get some repairs done.

yes, call me bias or whatever, i am VERY against AP company.
*
yeah you're really right.. when problems arrise, warranty or not they'll give a million excuses and even accuse the customer of not taking care of the phone properly like drop or dropped in water etc...

even if they repair your phone.. it would likely take a long time to repair and have a chance of mishandling the repair..e.g. we send our scratchless phone then come back with scratches, keypad probs.. and other probs

N85 using OLED screen so has a lifespan so to say.
*
why led screens don't have lifespans ?? hahaha..

if im not mistaken oled lasts longer and less power usage..

what im asking is not whether everything in the world has a lifespan or not.. what im askin is whether 5800 screen lasts longer than n85 oled screen
