The lady at the Lowyat Nokia shop told me they'll inform the people who sign up for pre-order about the price when they find out. Guess they themselves have no clue yet.

And i concur with a post from the previous page about the Tube being a little sluggish. In fact, i find the response of the phone painstakingly slow, particularly when zooming into pictures. The touchscreen of the iPhone is definately better, as i've just messed around with the iPod Touch 2 floors above. biggrin.gif But its still bearable i suppose, especially with the anti-Apple/pro-Nokia sentiment.

so tube demm slow compared with iphone? or just normal slow ..?

Not demm slow la. I would say S60 type of slow. tongue.gif But i think current s60 users would be at home with the interface. Itouch (NOT Iphone!) is snappier, but it could be the "fluid" interface giving the feel good factor while the thing loads. Just like what Microsoft did with Vista. All pretty graphics just to mask longer loading speeds.

Just head over to any Nokia store to play with the phone la. Im sure they have it in most shopping complexes edi.

Are Youtube vids watchable on the Tube? It would be a letdown if we cant do that with its awesome screen.

The list of supported video formats listed are also less than the n85.. any software that can overcome this?

Yeah, I can browse youtube over WIFI without any problems. Downloads and streaming are fast. However there are some problem with aspect ratio. The 5800's 3.2" LCD is a 16:9 aspect ratio and most videos in youtube are of the conventional 4:3 ratios, so playing them on 5800 will be stretched sideways. Not sure how to configure it yet. But then its acceptable lar.

One thing for sure, my HTC Touch Diamond has a feature to stream high or low quality videos. The 5800 does not have this option so most downloads are optimized for mobile viewing (meaning low quality).

Eh? I thought youtube already upgraded to 16:9 ratio? Vids shot in 4:3 would get black bars flanking them.

Imagine 16:9 vids on the Tube's screen... laugh.gif

Aiyak. I actually like the music stand. How about that rubber/plastic pouch thingy? The one smashpop shown in one of his first 5800 posts, with small holes infront and whatnot.
