The guys at iPhone spotted some code in the new iPhone 2.0 beta software that suggests Apple will use the Infineon 3G chipset. The code mentions "SGOLD3," which is a series of chips that Infineon produces. QUOTE S-GOLD3H supports HSDPA category 8 (7.2 Mbps), cameras of up to 5-megapixels, MPEG4/H.263 hardware acceleration and "video telephony, streaming, recording and playback." Source: Gizmodo This simply means, 3G may not be the only hardware upgrade you will be seeing in the second generation iPhone. Apple may or may not enable this function but these function are theoretically supported if that chip is used! This post has been edited by ken_wickedboy: Apr 9 2008, 10:32 PM
