A clutch lock would be better than a steering lock if you're driving a manual GB car. You could custom make a break/ accelerator lock if you own an auto GB car.

i think if u double park.. u should not even use the steering lock.. cause if the car u are blocking needs to exit.. u'll be struggling with the steering lock sweat.gif

I use alarm only. Streing lock is not use to prevent car theft but to delay the time use to steal your car.

Steering lock is a waste of money.
Do u know steering wheel is very soft? becoz its designed to give minimal impact if accident occurred.
Thiefs can just put the steering wheel and take out the steering lock within a minute.

waa... a lot of people doing that oso. as self defense. brows.gif

steering lock is not secure enough. car thieves can cut the steering wheel where the lock is attached. after all, steering wheel can be replaced with new one.

that's why i use pedal lock~! thumbup.gif bought the one that 'as seen on tv' one... tongue.gif
who would dumb enough to cut the clutch or brake pedal... how to replace? rclxub.gif

Not all steering wheels are soft & flexible. The flexible ones are dangerous actually, they deform faster than the steering column upon impact.
Even OEM ones aren't flexible, they have a rigid core wrapped in polyurethane or leather. It takes time to cut through them.

Plus, its a discouraging point to thieves. They'd rather go for one without the lock than one with, just saves them the precious few seconds that could land them in the slammer tongue.gif

There's something called a pedal-set which is easily available at most half-cut/chop shops. Plus, the culprit can still drive if he cuts the pedal ends properly (albeit being a little troublesome).

EVEN if you have a lorry of FRUs your car can still be stolen.

WHat the lock does is buy time and make it less alluring for thieves.

If one dish is already served and the other you need to prepare everything which one will you choose ?

Steering lock delays the thief. Imagine if you have to cut off the steering lock, dewire the alarm, dewire the sensors, ... by that time, someone will get suspicious and alert the authorities or by that time you would already by alerted if you have those crazy alarm systems that sends you sms when your alarm system has been comprimised. By the time that sms gets to you, that bugger is still busy cutting of the steering wheel. No such thing as 100 percent safety just prevention, unless you put a bomb in your car whenever someone steals it, BOOM.

They don't need to cut. All they have to do is bend the pedal lock to the sides and it actually pops right out of the clutch. ONce it is loose, the clutch can freely move even while the device is attached. Go online and you'd find plenty of ways to disable the 'as seen on tv' pedal lock.

I lock the steering if the car is out of my view for 10 mins.

Also, when you lock your steering, you should have the lock at the part where the legs are most narrow/tight on the steering wheel. That will force the thief to cut two points on the steering wheel instead of one.

bacically need lock for safetly although less than 10 minites, who know somebody can get yo car in less than 10 minites? if u lock, they need more times.
such as computer, sometimes firewall is not enough, we stil need antivirus, antiadware.

I'd just take another fuse and plug it back in. There are so many fuses together that unless you remove all the fuse, I'd just use the fuse next to the one that you just removed.
